The sun was shining beautifully, the birds were chirping and the park was packed with people who were taking a walk, laying on the grass or gathered around the playground where countless of children were playing.
"It's too hot. We should've gone to the beach or the public pool." Harry complained and shielded his eyes from the sun rays that were blinding him.
"You changed plans last minute, not me." Louis chuckled.
"You could've stopped me." Harry argued.
"It's too late now anyway. Let's stay here for half an hour and then it's nap time anyway." Louis smiled.
"Tell him that." Harry pointed to the kid that was just running- or better waddling towards them with a wide grin on his face not looking tired at all.
"Dada, look!" He stopped in front of them and held out his hand.
"Oh, wow! That's a beautiful stone!" Harry gasped excitedly when he crouched down in front of the two year old.
"Fo' you!" The boy chirped and pushed the stone in Harry's hand before he spun around and ran away.
"Slow down, Miles!" Louis called after him.
"Yes, daddy!" The boy yelled, but as if on cue he stumbled and fell on his knees onto the grass.
Louis sighed and approached him, he just knew it. "It's alright, love. Nothing happened." He appeased when he saw how Miles' bottom lip wobbled. "Come here." He said softly and held out his hand waiting until the boy was standing between his legs.
"Owie." Miles murmured and held out his hand.
Louis took it and cleaned his hand and pressed a quick kiss to the back of it when he was done. "See? All healed now."
"No." Miles pouted.
"Then dada has to give it a kiss as well." Louis said knowingly and Miles gasped holding out his hand for Harry who approached them now as well.
"Tank you, dada." Miles chirped when Harry kissed his hand with a chuckle just like Louis just did.
"A bit slower this time now, yeah?" Harry checked and the boy nodded quickly before he continued his way to the sandbox. "I love how easily kids can get manipulated."
"Wow. Father of the year." Louis snorted.
"As if you wouldn't do that!" Harry laughed unbelievingly.
"I would never!" Louis gasped.
"Sure, whatever helps you sleep at night."
The first year after they moved in together was rocky and they had to get used to the severity of their relationship, but another year later Louis finally took a heart after delaying it for too long and asked Harry to marry him.
He knew Harry's biggest passion was playing video games and as often as it annoyed Louis when he was sitting in front of the tv or the computer for hours he was sure from the very first moment that his proposal had to be related to it, partly because their actual relationship started with something similar when he took him to EA on their first date, so with the help of his graphic and design team he created a modified version of their current prototype and let Harry play the character who had to get a treasure out of a casket. Once he reached it and opened it a virtual ring came in sight and the question popped up on the screen. Louis could barely keep himself together when Harry called him confused while he was preparing everything in the dining room- a dinner he had made beforehand, decoration with lit up candles and a giant bouquet of Harry's favourite flowers- thinking there was a mistake in the game, it only dawned him when Louis rounded the corner all dressed up with his hands behind his back and went down on one knee to ask the question that changed their lives entirely.
