( Let me be your own Icarian Carrion )
Kaz had always heard the whispers of Tante Heleen's errand girl, but he had never met her face to face. He never had a reason to.
The rumors liked to say she was as clever as a devil, and some, mostly men, clarified she was twice as pretty as well. The ones that lived to tell the tale anyways.
Looking at the girl, she was pretty, no lie there, but she didn't seem as clever as they made her out to be. Instead of rummaging through the drawers on his desk full of job leads, club statements, and money, she was running her fingers over the spines of his books.
"If you're looking for anything important you won't find it over there" Kaz states expecting to startle her as he moves towards his desk.
She only turns to face him with a smile, "I know." A Ravkan accent shining through along with some ketterdam dialect. So she was Ravkan?
"So what did Tante Heleen send you here for, I doubt it was to raid my bookshelf"
"I'm here on personal matters"
She took the seat in front of the desk, legs crossed and back straight no indication of a lie in her eyes or a knife in her hand.
"Oh really" Kaz leans forward on his crossed hands, curious.
She nods not backing away from his sharp gaze.
He smirked lightly, " So, what are your 'personal matters' that brought you here."
"I want to strike a deal" she stated, sitting up straighter.
And so, on that day both Kaz Brekker and Lucien Yastov each made a deal with a devil that may cost a little more than their souls.
