"What the heck..." I whispered to myself after hearing a loud tap at my window. It was the second time I heard the noise, and I was becoming a bit worried.

I slowly got out of bed and picked up the first thing I saw, which happened to be an orange umbrella. I tip-toed over to the window and heard another noise as I got closer, causing me to jump back. At that point my heart was racing, and I tightened my grip on the umbrella as I took a couple of steps forward. When I got close enough, I stopped and squinted to get a better look of what was outside. I smiled when I saw a familiar face and dropped the umbrella.

I unlocked and opened the window before helping my best friend enter my room.

"Gosh, took you long enough," Jenna said as I pulled her through. "I knocked on your window like twenty times."

I rolled my eyes. "I'm sorry. I'm not used to people knocking on my bedroom window at..." I looked back at the clock on my nightstand, and my eyes widened when I saw the time. "...three in the morning? What the hell, Jen! What are you doing here at three in the morning?"

She shrugged. "I couldn't sleep," she replied, smiling innocently at me.

"Yeah, and I was asleep before you tried to break into my house."

"If I wanted to break into your house I would've gone through the backdoor, not your bedroom window," she said as she walked to my bed. "Sit," she said before looking back at me and patting the spot next to her.

I did as she said and sat down beside her. I was expecting her to explain why she was here, but instead, she asked me a question that caught me off guard.

"So, are you ready for college? You leave at the end of the week."

"Uh, actually, I'm not," I admitted, taking the time to think about it. "I'm going to miss everything and everyone..."

The more I thought about it, the more nervous I became. I wasn't ready to leave my family or friends.

"And by everyone, I assume you mean me?" she asked, smiling cutely.

I shook my head. "Nah, I meant everyone but you," I joked, earning push from her.

I faked a pained expression, and she rolled eyes.

"I'm going to miss you a lot," I told her, all jokes aside.

She didn't respond, instead she just smiled before lying down and looking above her.

I kept my eyes on her as she faced the ceiling. I observed what she was wearing, smiling when I realized she had on the shirt I left at her house a couple of weeks ago. Another thing I realized was that her hair was in two buns instead of out like usual, giving me a better view of her beautiful face. And although the room was dark, the smile on her face and the glow in her eyes were completely visible.

Man, I'm going to miss her face, I thought to myself as I took in her beauty.

"I know you are," she said, her voice pulling me out of my thoughts.

"Wait, what?" I asked, completely lost.

"I said I know you are," she repeated, looking at me. "If I were you, I'd miss me too."

I let out a small laugh before lying down beside her. "Of course you would."

Like before, she didn't respond. She just chuckled then looked back up at the ceiling.

I continued to watch her and as I did, I couldn't help but notice her expression change from amused to upset within a few seconds. She was in deep thought, and due to the serious look on her face and the way she nervously chewed on her lip, I could tell that whatever she was thinking about was bothering her.
