Jenna ran her fingers through Tay's hair, gently stroking her brown locks. She felt Tay shift and snuggle closer into her chest, causing her to smile down at her beautiful girlfriend.

She planted a light kiss on her forehead, hoping not to wake her up, but accidentally doing so.

"Good morning, babe," Tay mumbled before she sat up and yawned.

Jenna smiled. "'Morning, beautiful," she said, kissing her once more, but this time on the lips. Tay smiled into it, sliding her arms around Jenna's neck, and deepening the kiss.

The two pulled apart, Jenna being the first to speak, "Do you know what today is?" She grinned. "It's your birthday!"

She was obviously excited, but Tay wasn't.

The brunette sighed. "Please, please, please tell me you didn't plan anything," she begged, already knowing the answer.

Jenna frowned, a little upset by her tone. "What makes you think I have something planned? And would it be so bad if I did?"

"Look, babe, it's not that I don't appreciate the things you put together for my birthday, because I do. It's just, I'd rather spend time with you. Alone."

Jenna nodded and Tay leaned forward, pulling her into a hug, then kissing the tip of her nose. "All I want for my birthday is to have you all to myself," she whispered before connecting their lips. She then pushed Jenna back so that she was lying on her back, and climbed on top of her.

Before Tay had the chance to kiss her again, Jenna stopped her.

"Uh-uh, not just yet." She smirked.

Tay groaned. "Oh, come on!"

"You'll have me all to yourself later on, I promise."

"But I want you now." She pouted, folding her arms over her chest like an angry five year old.

Jenna shook her head and chuckled. "I can't believe you're twenty-five."

"And I can't believe you wouldn't let me kiss you," Tay said, sticking her tongue out.

"Yeah, but you still love me," Jenna said in a sing-song voice.

"Yeah, yeah. Whatever."

Tay was right, Jenna did have something planned, but Jenna didn't want Tay to find out about it. Keeping it to herself would be hard though, everyone knew she was terrible at keeping secrets.

To get Tay out of the house, she took her out to a movie and then to eat. They went to a small diner not too far from their apartment, and they ate while they talking about random things like music and their future.

Mid-conversation, Jenna got a phone call from Jordan. She excused herself from their table and walked over to the restrooms to talk to him. He let her know that everyone was at the apartment and ready to commence Operation Tay Day. She laughed at his choice of words, then told him that the two of them would be there soon.

She sat back down at the table with Tay, trying her hardest to hide her smile.

"Jen," Tay said, grinning. "Who was that?"

Jenna shook her head. "No one," she told her. "Just finish eating so we can head back home."

Now Tay was sure something was up, and she decided to mess around. She wanted to see if she could get Jenna to tell her what was going on, and she knew that wouldn't be hard.

"Actually, I think I want dessert. Do you want dessert, babe?" Tay asked Jenna, who nervously looked at the clock on the wall before answering.

"Nah, I think I'll pass," she said, giving her a small smile.

Tay let out a fake gasp. "Did Jenna McDougall just pass on dessert? Who are you, and what did you do with my girlfriend?" She exclaimed, and Jenna let out a small chuckle.

"Eh, I'm just not feeling dessert," she lied.

"Well, actually, I think I might just pass, too."

Jenna sighed in relief. "Okay good, I'll pay for the food and then we can go."

"Wait..." Tay picked up the dessert menu the waiter placed on their table earlier and began to look through it. "On second thought, a piece of chocolate cake wouldn't hurt," she said, looking at the picture of cake on the menu before showing it to Jenna. "Doesn't it look good?"

"Yeah, yeah, it looks delicious. Do you want it or not?" She asked, growing more and more impatient by the second. She looked at the clock again and saw that it was almost eight. They really needed to go. "You know what?" She said, turning back to her. "You don't want their cake, it's not that great. There's better cake at home."

"There's cake at the home?" Tay asked, raising an eyebrow.

"Yes! Now come on, we don't want to keep everyone waiting."

"Who's waiting for us, Jen? And why are you in such a rush? Is there something you want to tell me?"

"No, uh...shit," Jenna silently cursed under her breath. She knew this would happen, that Tay would find out. She sighed before finally telling the truth. "Jordan, Hayley, and I threw you a surprise party," she confessed. It was impossible to keep things from her.

"I knew it. I knew it. I knew it!" Tay exclaimed as she stood up and started dancing. She earned strange looks from the other people in the diner, but she ignored them. "I knew you had something planned!"

"It was supposed to be a surprise. We spent all week planning it." Jenna told her, a bit disappointed that she spoiled something they had all worked so hard on.

"Oh..." Tay whispered, feeling bad for rubbing it in her face. She slowly sat back down, then reached across the table and took Jenna's hand into her own. "Babe, I'm sorry, don't feel bad. When we get back to the apartment I'll act like I didn't know anything. I promise."

Jenna looked up and gave her a small smile. "You don't have to."

"No, I want to. It'll give me the chance to test out my acting skills," she joked.

"SURPRISE!" Everyone yelled as soon as Jenna and Tay walked through the door. Tay smiled when she saw the faces of her closest friends and family. She was actually surprised that some of them were able to be there since most of them were very busy or lived in a different state, and although she hated surprises, she was so thankful that her wonderful girlfriend took the time to put this together for her.

"Wow," she said, before looking back at Jenna. "Thank you so much." She reached over and planting a kiss on her lips.

"You're welcome," Jenna told her as she pulled away. "I know how much you hate surprise parties, but I thought it'd be nice to throw one anyway and invite all your favorite people."

"You're the best."

"Yeah." Jenna chuckled. "I know."

Tay playfulled rolled her eyes. "Yeah, yeah, come on."

She took Jenna's hand into hers, and they began greeting everyone. They had just got finished talking to Hayley when Thinking Out Loud by Ed Sheeran came on.

Jenna squealed, turning to Tay. "I love this song! Dance with me." Tay didn't hesitate to wrap her arms around her waist. They began swaying to the beat, and Tay rested her head in the crook of her neck as Jenna sang along to the music.

"Baby now,
Take me into your loving arms,
Kiss me under the light of a thousand suns,
Give me pizza and I'll be yours."

"Idiot." Tay laughed as she lifted her head off her shoulder. "Those aren't the lyrics."

Jenna shrugged, a small smile appearing on her face. "I didn't know the rest of the lyrics."

"You're such a dork."

"But you love this dork."

"Yeah, I do," she said, before pulling her into a kiss.

Jenna chuckled once they pulled away. "Happy Birthday, Taylor."
