(Or a few things about Jenna McDougall that make Tay Jardine feel at ease)
Her kisses
There was something about the way Jenna kissed Tay that made her feel invincible. Maybe it was the warmth that flowed through her body whenever Jenna's soft lips touched her, or maybe it was the sense of security she felt as that warmth passed through her. Her kisses were slow and passionate and loving, and they left Tay hesitant to pull away because she couldn't get enough of the taste of Jenna's gentle lips. When their lips connected, Jenna would lightly grip Tay's waist and pull her closer, the contact making the brunette feel wanted and safe. It was a nice feeling.
After long days, they'd find themselves lying in bed, wrapped in each other's warmth. Jenna's head resting in the crook of Tay's neck, allowing Tay to run her fingers through the blonde's short hair. From time to time, Jenna would reach up and place a small kiss on her cheek and Tay would simply smile in response, wishing they could just lie there forever.
It was those small moments of affection that made her feel as if they were the only two people on earth.
Her voice
It was no secret that Jenna had the voice of an angel. In the studio and during live performances, she sang her heart out, and her vocals never failed to amaze her band mates, fans, or her girlfriend. But at home, Tay got to hear her voice in its purest form. No instruments in the background or a live audience singing along to every word - just her beautiful, mellifluous voice.
She would easily fall asleep to Jenna humming soft tunes in her ear, and would wake up the next morning to the sound of her singing Alanis Morissette in the shower. Some mornings, if she woke up early enough, she'd catch her in the kitchen singing and dancing along to some throwback jams while making breakfast - a sight Tay wouldn't mind waking up to every single morning.
It wasn't just Jenna's singing that drove Tay wild, it was also the way she spoke. When Jenna wasn't on stage, she was very soft-spoken, and between the two of them, Jenna was definitely the quieter one. Tay would describe Jenna's voice as warm and soothing and somewhat sweet like honey. Words flowed out her mouth smoothly, making even the little things she said seem like they held a greater purpose.
Whenever Tay was feeling down, Jenna would whisper sweet words of encouragement in her ear. She'd repeatedly tell her how much she loved her and how much she cared as she held her in her arms. Sometimes, she'd even sing some of Tay's favorite songs in order to make her feel better. And whenever they were apart and Tay was feeling a little homesick, the first thing she did was call Jenna because to Tay, hearing Jenna's voice made her feel at home.
Her laugh
Jenna's laugh had to be one of Tay's favorite things ever. Not only did she find it super adorable, but just hearing it could almost immediately put her in a better mood.
It wasn't hard to make Jenna laugh, the simplest of things could earn a giggle from the younger girl. Sometimes her and Tay would stay up till three in the morning watching cat videos, and Tay would just sit there with the hugest smile on her face, watching Jenna laugh her ass off.
She loved those moments.
She loved watching Jenna try her hardest to stifle a laugh whenever she heard or saw something funny. And she loved it when Jenna began laughing so hard that her eyes started to water, and she had to take a moment to catch her breath. She loved the look of pure happiness on her face, and it made her happy that she could experience those little moments with her because in those moments, she felt like the luckiest girl in the world.
The little things about Jenna brought Tay an immense amount of joy. She had been with Jenna for years, and she was sure she could never get sick of them. There were times when she found herself stressing out or just feeling completely done with life, but Jenna would always be there to make her feel better. Whether it was with her kisses, her voice, or her laughter, Jenna always found a way to make Tay feel at ease.
