It was dinner time and Kathleen cooked for both her and Alex. They ate and then they spent time watching tv.
Kathleen hates these days. There were only two. She loves her brother, she does, but it is not the same without her parents. They never put the kids first, it's always been their jobs first.
Kathleen remembers specifically when she had an awards day and was excited for her parents to show, but they never did. She got used to their absences for school activities. That's why the LaRusso's have been by her side. They understood that her parents chose their jobs first so they always tried to show up for her as well.
She's been used to people being absent and disappointing her. It's why she's only been super close to Sam. She's always been by her side but ever since she started dating Kyler she's been a little distance. Hanging with Yas, Moon, and Kyler. Kathleen didn't really mind it, Sam wouldn't be the first one to leave her.
"Hey Kat, someone just sent you a notification." Alex announced to Kathleen.
She checked her phone and saw she got an Instagram request. From Miguel Diaz?
Did she know anyone by that name? How did he find her insta? She's private so she has to confirm the request so he'll be able to see her post. She wanted to give it time to confirm it, she didn't want to seem desperate.
She got requests like that all the time. Accounts with little to no followers, and no profile picture. But something about this guy's profile seems different. She wants to confirm and follow him back. Something deep down is telling her to do it.
"Hey it's getting late. I think you should get ready for bed." Kathleen told her brother who was sitting on the floor with his back to the couch. "Want me to make breakfast tomorrow morning or want to get some at school?"
"Can you make your French toast? No one really eats the school's breakfast." Alex replied back in a disgusted tone.
Kathleen chuckled. "Yeah sure. Come on, let's go."
After seeing her brother close his room door in front of the upstairs entrance, she walked all the way back to her room. It was way back in the back of the house.
Kathleen tried to finish getting ready for the night but she couldn't get the Instagram request out of her head.
"Whatever. I'll just confirm it. Don't even know who he is."

"Cyber bullying is no laughing matter." Counselor Blatt started. "Sending a cruel message to someone online can be just as hurtful as saying it to their face."
No one was paying attention to her. Kathleen's whole table was on their phones not listening to anything she was saying.
"I'm not gonna name names, but the other day a mother called me up because her son was crying, after some kids online made fun of his facial deformity."
