It was officially the first day of school. Although Kathleen hates going to school, she was super excited. She can start a new year with new friends, and an incredible boyfriend.
She was worried about Tory too, she never replied back. After they witnessed the kiss, Kathleen was angry with Zack, she didn't see the whole thing but he didn't pull back. He might of came to his senses after but it took a minute. She didn't think she could speak to the boy anytime soon, maybe after he's had a talk with Tory.
Kathleen was struggling on choosing an outfit. That's why she needs Tory, the girl would complain but at the end she would help her friend out.
She did know she wanted to wear heels so she paired them with a random leggings and off the shoulder top. It was pretty simple but she didn't care, there wouldn't be anything going on at school anyways.
"Honey." Kim slightly opened her daughter's door carrying a bowl of yogurt. "I know you're late to school, so I've brought you something to eat."
With a small smile, Kathleen accepted the bowl. That's the first time in a while that Kim's been kind to her. Recently she's been ignoring the girl, or hasn't been home due to work.
"Have a great first day sweetie. I'll see you when you get home."
Kathleen stopped Kim before she walked away. "You're not working today? Papa said you were going to San Diego."
"No. I decided to stay another week." Kim explained walking up to Kathleen. "I wanted to be here for the first week of school."
She didn't know what to say. Her mother would rather be at work, why is she acting so different. But that didn't matter as long as Kim wanted to be there for her daughter and son was all Kathleen cared about.
"Well I'm hanging with Aisha after," Kathleen stated as she put the bowl down on her dresser. " can you drop me off at school?"
With an amusing look Kim chuckled and nodded her head, "You sure? I haven't dropped you off in a while, but if you are.... come on before you change your mind."
Both of the women laughed and rushed outside. Kathleen didn't know why that came to mind. She never asked her mother to drive her, but Kim was putting in effort, so why not ask her to drop her off.
For the first day only, obviously.
The whole drive to school was filled with laughter and music. The mother and daughter were finally getting along and Kathleen could consider it as a baby step. That's the first time they've done that in years.
Saying goodbye to her mother Kathleen walked up to the front doors of school. She had seen Aisha and Zack walk inside meeting Miguel. Still no Tory in sight.
"Hola amigos." Kathleen spoked as she approached her friends. "And hello to you amor." She reached up pecking Miguel's cheek then moved over to his lips.
