While Miguel had Cobra Kai practice, Kathleen decided to skip that day on joining. She needed some space from both Miguel and her friends.
They didn't do anything to her but she just needed to decide on what she wanted to do. She can either fight with her boyfriend, who she likes spending her time with. Or fight with her best friend, who's always been her family.
Kathleen was in a difficult spot.
She was laying in bed staring up at her ceiling thinking about her decisions, when Miguel called her.
Kathleen was a little hesitant to answer his call. She had no reason not to.
"Hey." Kathleen said once she accepted the call.
"Hey. I just wanted to say that I'm sorry. I'm sorry for not being able to have dinner with you and your family." Miguel blabbers once Kathleen spoke. "I know how much you were looking forward to-"
"Miguel, it's okay." Kathleen interrupted him, then chuckled to let him know she wasn't mad. "I know you had something to do. It's okay, you can always meet them some other day, right?
"Yes, I can." Miguel said smiling on the other side of the phone call. "If you want, can I meet them tonight? I have nothing else to do after practice."
Kathleen was surprised, Miguel wanted to meet her parents tonight. She didn't think he would have wanted to today. "Oh, um, yeah. Sure I can let them know."
"Ok. Well I'll see you later. Bye, I love you." Before Kathleen could comprehend what Miguel said, he hung up the call.
Kathleen didn't know what to do. They never said it to each other, now Miguel said it a few hours before meeting her parents which made her nervous.
Of course she loved Miguel but she was just in shock that he had said it earlier, and before she could say it to him. She had always thought she would be the one to say it first.
Now she's nervous about what her parents might think. Her mother would probably like him, but her father, yeah he might be a little hard on Miguel.
She just hopes everything goes great with her family having dinner with her first boyfriend she brings around them.

Kathleen needed Sam's help with that whole dinner plan they were going to have. There was no need for Kathleen to be nervous, she knew her boyfriend was the best and her parents would love him.
She just couldn't get over the fact that Miguel would be the first boy to bring around her family. No one would have thought that she would ever date a boy from Reseda.
That's one thing Kathleen hopes her mother wouldn't bring up during the dinner.
Sam was the only other person who had gone through the whole 'bringing your boyfriend to family dinner'. Although hers didn't go as planned, especially with a guy like Kyler.
