It was comeback season. The work for idols and staff started long before the music was released and they started promoting. I had just come back to work and was tasked with guiding a new solo artist jyp was planning on debuting soon. I was to help him write and produce his first mini album. But jyp was insistent that he be credited on every song in the album. That's fine, I don't mind that.

Except that this kid has zero interest in songwriting.

It's not that he isn't talented, beautiful performer, clean dancer, talented vocalist, could be a decent rapper if he tried. He just doesn't care about songwriting. He'd rather be in the studio dancing, or singing covers. He's a true idol, he wants to perform, not write. I don't see anything wrong with that except for the fact that I have to force this seventeen year old kid to sit at a piano with me and try to get him to talk about his feelings. I was dealing with this, and it was also comeback season. While I was stray kids' sole vocal coach I also did lessons for other artists here and there, and right now I was double booked. Jyp had increased the amount of music I needed to give him for the next three months by more than a quarter. As well as the names and the weird growing relationship with the boys and the even weirder parasocial relationship they had with their fans.

To put it simply, I was stressed.

I wasn't the only one though. Me and Chan both were having too many overnight stays in our studios. Minho, Hyunjin and Felix had all on separate occasions fallen asleep in the practice room while working on choreo. They were all putting in work. But as per usual, the one that took it too far was chan. I had already been in the building for going on 72 hours straight, and god knows how long Chan had been here. I was sitting on the couch in my studio, wrapped up in a blanket, working on a track on my laptop when I got a notification that Chris was live. I pulled it up real fast just to check on him. On the surface he really didn't look bad, in fact as always he was beautiful. But I could see it. The way his shoulders sagged, the tired way he smiled. I stood up with my blanket still wrapped around myself. I pulled some leftovers I had in the mini fridge out and headed down the hall to his studio.

I knocked lightly and then peaked my head in.

"Who is- ah! Hey Robin! What's up!" He motioned to the camera.

"I know you are live, I got the notification. You looked tired though, I know I am. So I brought you some food," I walked over in front of the set up and waved, "Hi, stay! Stray Kids and all the other artists here are working really hard right now so continue to support them!"

He smiled softly at me, "thanks for the food Ro...speaking of working hard, how many days straight have you been in your studio?"

I shrugged, "like three?"

His mouth hung open, "that's even longer than I've been here!"

Well there goes my theory that at least I was taking better care of myself than Chris.

He turned back to the chat, "everyone tell Robin to go home and go to sleep."

I laughed, "stop it, they'll listen to you!"

"Yeah that's what I'm hoping for!"

And they did listen, all telling me to take care of myself and thanking me for taking care of chan, "as much as I would love to go home, I have to get these songs finished! They won't write themselves!"

He gave me a look, "tell me honestly, how much work have you gotten done in like the past four hours?"

I sighed, "not much..." I had reached the wall where I was so tired I was unproductive, "but that goes for you too chris!"

He kept the same look on me, I sighed again. Much more dramatically, "fine, I'll go home. As long as you promise to go back to the dorm after your live!"
