Rin entered his cram class. He took a seat in the back of the classroom. Working with Amiamon and Shea today was great. He felt like he had learned more in a day than he had all year. He couldn't stop thinking about how Amiamons power had felt when it washed over him. It was warm, calming and smelled of earth. His scent still clung to him. How could something so soothing be evil? The True Cross had no love for demons. No matter how hard he tried They would always see him as a monster. A weapon, a tool to use as they see fit. Demons wanted to use him too. Even Maphisto. If he could love people, why couldn't he love demons too.
Bons voice pulled him from his thoughts. "Hey, where were you today? We missed you at lunch" Rin couldn't bring himself to lie. "Well, Maphisto changed my schedule. I'm only going to my regular classes twice a week. Amiamon is going to teach and train me for the  rest of the time." Everyone just stared at him. Yukio spoke up first "are you crazy? Amiamon tried to kill you! He's dangerous. You can't trust him." "You might be right but I need help. I'm not human. I’m something in between.  I feel it more everyday. I have been given a chance to learn from an actual demon king. I have to know what I'm capable of. And no human can teach me that. And if Amaimon had really wanted to kill us, we'd be dead. Plus I kicked his ass today." Rin responded. Shami quietly spoke "are you sure about this?" Rin answered simply "yes I am." Bon added "if you're serious about this, you have my support."
Yukio was getting mad. "Rin you can't do this. You're going to get yourself killed. Dad died trying to protect you from demons! He wanted to keep you human. Did you forget that?" Rin yelled back " I was never human! Everyone lied to me. Even you! I've accepted what I am, why can't you? If I'm going to have any chance of kicking Satan's ass I have to get stronger. This is my chance." Yukio wasn’t backing down. “So you've decided to give up on being human. After we did so much for you.” Rin anger flared “So much for me. You were going to leave me behind. You were going to come here to be a teacher and an exorcist. School was hard, I was supposed to try and get another job that I'd probably fail at. All because everyone decided I could be something I am not. The cruelest thing Shrio ever did was teach you to hate demons, hate me. Rin stormed out of the room before he burst into flames.
Yukio paused, he couldn't believe his brother felt that way. He remembered the words he heard the 'king will rise.' Everyone was shocked, they din’t know what to say. Bon spoke first “Rin is my friend. His sword is going to break soon. He needs our support.” Yukio's eyes caught his gaze. It was scary. “You don’t know what you're talking about. Even if Rin can defeat Satan, I will lose him. You can't defeat a demon King without becoming one. Think about it. His sword is about to break and now a demon king wants to help him. They want to use him just as much as the order. You're all as naive as Rin. Demons will trick you into believing anything to get what they want. And they want Rin to be the next Demon KING of Gehenna!” Yukio seethed “turn in your quizzes, class dismissed.

They all hurried from the classroom. Shima spoke up first “ Is it just me, or is Yukio way scarier then Rin?” "definitely" Bon said Izimo asked “So if Rin can actually beat satan he becomes the king of gehenna?” Konko said “yukio is right. Gehenna is based on power. Amimon still scares me but Rin is right. He could have killed us all that night. Rin has very few people that actually care about him. What if he decides to abandon us?” Bon bluntly said "if you guys think Rin will give up on what he cares about, then you don't know him at all ".
