It was the end of the day after Rins first month of training with Amiamon. He system in Gahanna. The strong ruled and the weak followed. He had also been teaching him etiquette, dance, and music. He had chosen the violin, and he turned out to be quite good at it. He had  also been teaching him about the other demon kings and their kin. How their territories came to be. They had all been drawn to their element. For example, iblis, the king of fire, had been drawn to the fire and lava of the burning mountains. Egen, king of water, was drawn to the flow of the eternal waters. Amiamon had been drawn to the endless forest. Beyond their territories their element still called to them, it was theirs to command. Part of him longed to see it with his own eyes.
He was tired after another long day. Shea and Amaimon had pushed him to his limits today. It felt great. She had said that he was better with two daggers than a sword. He wore them with pride. He sighed thinking about the homework he still had to do. When he opened the door to his room he was shocked at what he saw. The whole room had been redone. There was soft blue paint on the walls. The floor had new carpet. It had a blue/grey color. His bed had been replaced with a larger one. Complete with new bedding. They were royal blue with strange symbols on them. The bed frame was made from solid wood. The headboard was tall with a beautiful flower design carved into it. His desk and wardrobe matched the bed frame. There was a very elegant two-seater couch. It was a vibrant blue and felt velvety to the touch.
On the bed there was a stuffed toy behemoth. Rin ran over and jumped on his bed. It was so comfortable. His old bed you could feel the springs in your back.He grabbed the toy and hugged it. The toy smelled like Amaimon. It smelled of forest and fresh tilled earth. Rin began tossing the toy up in the air. Amaimon stared through the window. He thought to himself I lost to a child, no he lost to the prince of Gahanna. Amaimon came in though the window. Rin jumped up, hiding the toy behind his back. He could barely hold back his excitement. He left the toy on bed and grabbed Amaimons hands "this is great!" Rin had a moment of panic. He let go and backed away. "I didn't mean to do that, i just got excited. Amiamon answered simply " touch forms bonds and your room was depressing. I'm glad you like it" I've never had something this nice. Rin said as he laid back on the bed and hugged his new toy. Amiamon sighed, "you really are just a child." "Only compared to you" Rin responded "how did you convince Maphisto to do this?" "I told him that I can't teach you to be a prince if you are living like a servant." Amiamon replied. "I replaced your clothes as well." Rin had a another moment of panic "you didn't get rid of my sweater and tie? Shiro gave them to me." "No, your scent was strong on them. Amiamon answered. Rin opened the wardrobe. He could tell by looking at the clothes that they were expensive. Even his uniforms had been upgraded. In the back where two leather suits of armor. What are these for? "For training" Amiamon said "Maphisto is tired of replacing your uniforms."
"I want to say thank you, but you said that annoys you." It does, but you have been denied so much I will accept it this time." Amiamon pulled a small box from his pocket. "I want you to have this." He handed Rin the small box. Rin opened it.  Inside was a necklace. It had a stone in the shape of a  teardrop. It was a deep shade of green that sparkled when he moved it. "This is beautiful"   Rin said "this is a tear of a willow maid. They only shed one tear when their ancient tree dies. It will protect you. If you ever need help just hold it and ask for it." Rin put the necklace around his neck. " if this stone is so rare are you sure I should have it?" Rin asked.  Amiamon grumbled "You are too humble. Now get some sleep. Tomorrow I'm going to take you to one of my gardens here in Assiah." Rin sighed, "I can't sleep yet, I still have homework to do." "If you're going to do something, do it right, or else what's the point?" Amiamon scolded. "Finish your work, then go to bed. I'll see you in the morning."
The next morning Amiamon woke him up early. "Why do we have to get up now?" rin complained. Amiamon let out a frustrated breath "If we don't leave now, we will miss the sun rise. " "alright I'm getting up." Rin replied. He hurried to get dressed. "Are You ready?" Amiamon asked. "Yes" "good now lets go" Amiamon put one arm around Rins waist, and snapped his fingers with the other.
Suddenly, they were standing in the middle of a beautiful garden.
Amiamon walked him through the rows of plants and flowers. Many of the plants rin didn’t recognize. He stopped at one plant. It's leaves seemed to change color depending on how the light hit it. Its leaves had jagged ages. As he went to touch it, Amiamon stopped him. "That is called demons Bane. It would kill any lower level demon and weaken the rest." "got ya, don't touch it." Rin replied.
Rin followed Amiamon to a small rise. At the top, it overlooked the whole garden. There was a bench that looked like it had grown from the ground underneath it. It was made of branches that were woven together in an almost unnatural way. Amiamon sat down, and Rin followed his example. After a few minutes of silence Rin spoke "what do we do now?" "Just sit still and watch the sun rise." After some time Rin began to fidget. He started to swing his legs back and forth. Suddenly, Amiamon reached over and grabbed Rin by the waist, pulling him close to him. "Sit still." Rin should have felt uncomfortable, but he didn't. He felt calm, relaxed. Safe and protected. He hadn't felt like this since Shiro died.
They stayed like that as the sun rows. Time passed, and Rin began to get hungry. He glanced at Amaimon. He was completely still. It was like he wasn't even breathing. "Amiamon are you ok?" Rin asked. After a few minutes he spoke as he continued to stare at the sky "the earth moves very slowly or suddenly with explosive power." He slowly turned his head to look at Rin. "Your power can be explosive, you must learn to sit still." Rin thought for a moment. "Your different form the other kings, aren't you?" Rin concluded "light is constantly expanding, time and space has no end, water is always moving, if it doesn't, it stagnates, fire consumes everything, everything rots away, insects are always moving, a state of constant flux. But you're the only one that stays still." "Yes" Amiamon said as he placed a small kiss on Rin's forehead. Rin was stunned "What was that for?" You are a young powerful demon who has been denied basic affection, it's sad really." Amiamon answered "come little prince, I have been idle too long. I  have one more lesson to teach you today."
Amiamon took them back to Mephsitos manner. They ended up outside in the courtyard. It was lager and very elaborate. Paths of white stone weaved around the garden beds. There were two stone gargoyle statues on pedestals leading you onto the paths. In the middle was a beautiful fountain .It had three tirs. Water flowed from the top. There was even a koi pond. The whole place felt serene.
"So what else did you want to teach me today?" Rin asked. " I want you to be able to control your presence. Power pours from you in burning waves. You vibrate with it. It can be suffocating. With this you can enchant the minds of the weak, and the strong will respect your strength. You have used your presence on me, and in that moment I would have denied you nothing. It was like staring into the eyes of  Gahanna itself. "I don’t understand." "Yes you do, all of the ba’al heard gehenna's call, and so did you." "I heard it."Rin replied,"but it's my fire. Part of me just wants let go and let it all burn. It gets harder every day. But I can't let go, or all that will be left is ash and smoke. I can't destroy the world my brother lives in. " so you would save Assiah? Amiamon asked. "I want to save both worlds." Rin answered. "Good, '' Amiamon answered.'I'm sure you've pushed your presence on your friends. You have to be careful. Too much power can break a humans mind. That's why I thought it was important to teach you to stay still. "How can I control my presence, got any tips?" Rin stated. "Get control of your emotions. Strong emotions make it harder to control, " Amiamon said. Rin sighed,"That is easier said than done."
