    Robin's Perspective.

She was gone. Gone! I couldn't believe it, one minute she was here and the next she wasn't. I yelled and ran to the edge, I just caught a glimpse of her before she disappeared into the fog beneath. My heart felt ripped, I was stunned. But had it worked? Had she done it or died in vain? I wondered as the last chime died away. Just then a hissing sound could be heard from the pit. HATHSSSSSSS! The fog beneath turned black and snake-like shadows erupted from it. They flew out and right at us, I jumped back from the edge as a shadow flew into me. I felt cold and ugly, just as I had in the tree. But this time it quickly left as the shadow flew out of me again. It did this to everyone, sitting longest in my father. Then it flew back to the ones over the pit. They all congregated into one and prepared to fly into my father when a bright light shone from beneath them. The shadows screamed and tried to escape but the light pierced every one of them. Then out of the pit came the source of the light, a sparkling ball, blinding the eyes. It then began slowly hovering towards me, it began to slowly dispense. As the shimmers began to accumulate into a figure's feet and legs, I instinctively held out my arms and the figure grew until the ball had disappeared, leaving the glowing figure in my arms. As the glow died away I noticed it was a girl, she had on a sparkling white gown ending just above her feet. On her feet she wore gold satin slippers. My roving eyes moved up to her face, Crystal! She had never looked lovelier! Her dress ended before her neck and the sleeves were low cut leaving her shoulders exposed, I tried not to stare. But my eyes were drawn mostly to her face, her hair looked like someone had sprinkled stardust in it, her lashes looked even longer and darker than before, and her lips looked so pink and kissable. I wondered if I dared? But before I could decide Loveday and Benjamin ran over. Loveday took her head from me and Benjamin pushed me out of the way of her middle as he checked for a heartbeat. "She's alive!" he cried as everyone rejoiced. Just then her eyelashes fluttered open, revealing those beautiful blue eyes. I beheld the angel in front of me. I suddenly knew I loved her. If only she felt the same way about me, but she only saw me as a friend, but for me? I felt more than friendship towards her. As all these thoughts swirled through my head she sat up and smiled. Benjamin and Loveday were hugging and laughing. Suddenly she turned her attention to me, "Did we win?" she asked. "Yes you did it, Hero." I smiled at her. "No Robin," she smiled at me, "we did it!" I smirked back at her and retreated back to where Mrs. Heliotrope, Marmaduke, and Digweed were. I watched the happy scene before me, she was literally glowing with happiness, she relayed the whole adventure to everyone, not leaving out a single detail. Suddenly she asked what had brought them here in time to witness it. Loveday whispered something inaudible to her, she looked satisfied but then she looked at me and her face fell. I wondered what had upset her, was it something I had done? Suddenly she was right in front of me. "I heard you yell when I had jumped, were you worried?" she asked. "No, I knew you would come back all along." I told her. She laughed and playfully punched me in the arm. Suddenly my father stepped from the shadows and smiled, "let me offer my congratulations too, a job well done. Well almost. I thought the job was done but... as they say you want a job done right." I noticed a glint of steel behind his back, suddenly I understood. A cry ripped itself from my lips and I pushed her out of the way just as he pulled the trigger. The bullet meant to pierce her heart, pierced my shoulder. I fell and in a moment she was beside me. I heard her unsheathe my dagger and throw it at my father. I heard him yell, surprised. I looked and she had him pinned to the wall with my knife sticking out of his cloak. Just as well she didn't pierce the skin, I thought. I looked up into her face, so concerned and tearful. I removed my hand from my shoulder, I felt something warm and wet. Blood. I looked back at her, by now she had my head in her lap. "Now we match." I smirked at her. She managed to laugh and smile through her tears. I looked over at my father, Benjamin and the other men had him pinned on the ground. Just then I wondered, where was Maria? I felt Crystal's hands pushing my hair away from my face, so gently it might have been the wind, I looked up at her and smiled through the pain. My vision blurred and I felt no more.
