6 years later
"You working on a new piece?" Felix asks, resting his chin on Hyunjin's shoulder. The younger standing in the middle of Hyunjin's art studio. Paintings above a stairwell and sitting on stands for whoever enters to see, all beautiful artworks that Felix wished he could look at and not just have someone describe them to him. However, Hyunjin mentioned to him many times that it was okay and all he cared about was that the boy supported him.
"Mhm." Hyunjin breaks his eyes from the canvas and turns his head to kiss Felix on the cheek.
"What will it be?" Hyunjin smiles.
"That's something for you to figure out later." Hyunjin continues to paint, and Felix ruffles his hair, walking out of the room. After they got out of college Hyunjin became a famous artist, known by almost everyone. And after 2 and a half years of dating, Hyunjin asked Felix to marry him.
Felix fiddles with the ring on his finger as he meets his friends out in the living room. "What's he doing?" A boy asks from the couch.
"He's painting. How are you, Forrest?" The boy asks, and Forrest shrugs.
"Same as always." The younger walks to sit on the couch with everyone else. Seungmin lays with his head in Chris' lap, and Jisung sits sleeping with his head resting on Minho's shoulder. Forrest and Yeji had gotten married, and Jisung and Minho started dating. Yeji walks over from the kitchen and gives Forrest a hug.
A few moments later Hyunjin walks through the door and sits on the floor in between Felix's legs. Felix feels Hyunjin's hair in front of him and runs his fingers through it. "Taking a break?" Felix asks, and he feels Hyunjin nod.
"Do you guys want to do something? I'm bored..." Changbin groans, his head laying back on the couch.
"Well, what would you want to do?" Jeongin asks, and Changbin shrugs. "You've got to know what you want to do before you do it hyung." The youngest of the group sighs, patting him on the back.
"How about... we go to a restaurant?" Seungmin suggests as Chris twists his locks of hair. Everyone agrees, and soon they were all going to SKZ Cafe.
"Welcome to SKZ Cafe!" The 10 of them had been going to SKZ Cafe all the time and had become regulars there. "How's work been going Hyunjin?" The woman asks as she takes everyone's order.
"Great! For me it's always joyful to paint." Hyunjin smiles, walking over with Felix to pick a booth while the others place their orders. Felix rests his head on the elder's shoulder and intertwines their fingers, pouting. "What's wrong?" Hyunjin asks.
"Are you really not going to tell me what your painting is? You usually tell me what you're going to paint." Felix frowns but the elder only laughs.
"You'll have to wait Felix!" Hyunjin smiles at the boy.
"But I like to know what your paintings are! Because by their description I just know how good they look. I wish I could see them myself though..." Felix huffs and Hyunjin chuckles at the boy.
"For the last time Felix, I just need your support. That's all, okay? Stop being so sad about it." He squeezes the boy's hand, and he lightens up a bit and nods. After a while the others sit down and then they get their food soon afterwards. When they all finish eating and talking a bit, they end up going straight back to Hyunjin and Felix's house to chill. Jisung had been so tired that him and Minho just went into a spare room to get some sleep.
"A reporter is coming later today; she's going to do a piece on my new painting." Hyunjin explains and Felix sighs.
"The painting you won't tell me about?"
"Felix..." The elder whines. "Don't be like that!" The 8 of them sitting on the couch yet again, and eventually, Yeji and Forrest left the house. Changbin turned on a movie that everyone was watching, and then Hyunjin got a text.
Same time different place
A young woman walks out of her apartment with a camera crew following close behind, she opens the door to her car and sits in the driver's seat. "Right now, I am on my way to famous artist Hwang Hyunjin's house. Where he lives with his husband, and his friends, of which include famous singer Kim Seungmin always hang out." She takes a quick glance at the camera before speaking again.
"We will be doing a brief interview on his new piece, which is yet to have a name, but I believe he might reveal the name to us towards the end." She pulls a tight-lipped smile and nods, keeping her eyes on the road.
"Do you like Mr. Hwang's artwork?" The man behind the camera asks, and the woman laughs.
"Of course, I do! I do pieces on what I think are interesting, amazing even." The woman drives and talks with the man until she pulls up at a house a little bit bigger than an average one. She admires the space for a bit, and then opens her car door and steps out. "Are we rolling?" The woman asks, and the man gives her a silent thumbs up. The woman walks to the front door and knocks, hearing some footsteps get louder and louder.
"Who is it?" A soft voice comes from the other side of the door and the woman instantly recognizes it.
"Reporter Choi Jiyoung here for Mr. Hwang's interview?" She speaks, and the voice whispers something.
"Oh, Hyunjin did tell us about that didn't he?" Someone opens the door, and there stands Kim Seungmin. He waves at her and steps aside to let her and the man behind her in. "He's in there." Seungmin points to a door and Jiyoung nods.
"Thank you!" The woman knocks on the door and hears a response.
"Come in." She opens the door, and three things catch her eye. First, the amount of beautiful paintings placed throughout the studio. Second, Hwang Hyunjin standing in the middle of the space, giving her a small wave. And third, the figure standing in front of the giant window in the room. An angel? Yes. The woman walks over to Hyunjin and introduces herself.
The whole space was just calming as Hyunjin reveals his painting. It was of a man looking over his shoulder. His hair was as white as snow, and fluffy. Freckles danced across his cheeks like stars, and his white shirt came down his arms just enough, so the light reflected off of his bare shoulders. And lastly his eyes, gray and calm... soothing. There was this shine within them that made you almost not want to look away. His surroundings were dark, but he was glowing.
A spitting image of the elder's husband standing in front of the huge window. "It's beautiful... what have you decided to name it?" The woman looks away from the painting hearing as the man wasn't answering to see him turned around and looking at the figure in the window. Jiyoung could see now why he decided to paint this portrait. Hyunjin couldn't help but stare at him, and when Felix turned around, the elder tilted his head in confusion. And even though the boy wasn't looking right at him, the younger smiled, then turned back around.
Hyunjin laughs silently to himself and turns back to see Jiyoung looking at him. "Sorry... what was the question?" Hyunjin asks, and the woman laughs.
"What have you decided to name this portrait?" She asks once more, and the elder smiles brightly.
"The boy in white."
