(Julien's point of view)

"What should we listen to?" Abby asked us when we all climbed into the car. She was driving; we were all exhausted.

"Whatever you want," I shrugged.

"I think we've all missed the abundance of Taylor Swift," Lucy said.

Within a second, "Evermore" was playing. We laughed and settled in for the drive. I was riding shotgun and Lucy and Phoebe were in the back, Maxine sitting in Phoebe's lap.

Phoebe fell asleep a few minutes into the hour and a half drive home, her head on Lucy's shoulder. Maxine was now sprawled across both their laps, also asleep. I secretly took a picture of the three of them.

"So," Abby whispered, turning down "happiness" a bit. "Tell me everything that you didn't already."

"Hm," I gazed at her. She was so beautiful. "We learned that Maxine doesn't like cowboy hats."

"Silly girl," She giggled.

"Did you get out the extra pillows and blankets for Lucy and Phoebe?"

"Yes, ma'am."

"Figured out your outfit for Taylor?"

"Almost!"

I had managed to snag two tickets to The Eras Tour for one of the shows in Los Angeles, and Abby was very excited. I had left her up to outfits; I would wear literally anything if it meant seeing her so happy.

"Restock on food? We're growin' boys."

"I love the fact that you still have hope in your height," She said, biting her lip to keep from laughing.

"Shut the hell up." I hissed.

She covered her mouth with her arm to muffle her laughter. After a moment, she grabbed my tattooed hand and kissed it. "Of course I stocked up on food."

"And did-"

"What do you think I did all day? Sat on the couch, watching movies? You know I can't sit still when I'm excited. I did everything I could think of, so check everything off of your internal to-do list."

"God, I missed you."

She smiled.

We fell back into our routine pretty easily. The first two days, Lucy and Phoebe stayed with us. We were pretty lazy, but it was alright. Going nonstop for a month tires a guy out.

After they left, we cleaned up and started being productive. It felt so good to be home, to wake up to Abby's sleepy face, to take the dog on runs, to cook dinner, to do laundry in my own washing machine, to go grocery shopping on Mondays and order takeout on Fridays, to watch movies before falling asleep, to watch Abby read. I could never get sick of our quiet life. In fact, I hoped it would stay the same for a while.

If only we knew what was to come.
