i've never been a natural (all i do is try, try try)

(sorry i haven't updated this in a while! i've been busy with school, heres a chapter to fill in :) 

It was Ward, and Gavin, up in the construction site, They had managed to follow them there, there was nothing they could do now but let it play out. "There's Gavin," Pope said, looking through his binoculars, it was raining, hard too, they were all completely soaked, none of them thought it would take this long either, it was coming towards 11 pm, Kiara was missing her night with JJ "Where are you going you son of a bitch" Pope mumbled watching Ward, "Gotta go up top" JJ said, while they were losing sight of Ward, they climbed to the top on the wall on a ladder that was stuck too it, once they got up the top Pope started filming through his camera, they watched and watched, whatever they were doing, "This is suspicious as shit" Pope said still looking through the camera, JJ spoke up "Of course it is, look at him he's got a duffel bag" "Holy shit...Ward's got a gun" "I bet that's the murder weapon" Kie replied, and then there it was, gunshots, they all gasped and immediately hid behind the wall, Kie grabbing JJ's hand in process, they where all bent down, Kie didn't even notice she was holding JJ's hand at this point, but he did, he looked down at it and held it tighter, she hid their hands so they were out of Pope's view, "Oh my god" Kie said "What the hell" JJ said "No no no no no, that did not just happen" she said in a worried tone, she was about to cry, Pope got back up with his camera quickly "What is going on!" Kie was crying now, god how did they always get caught up in this shit, "Kie it's gonna be all good, we just gotta stay hidden" She nodded at JJ's words, "Jesus Pope! get down man did you not just hear that!" JJ said trying to reach over Kie to pull on his shirt "Wait!" he said pushing JJ's hand away, "Then... tell me you just got that" JJ said, Pope stayed silent for a beat and then said "Enough to put this asshole away for life" "I think we should go, like right now" he nodded at JJ "Yeah" Pope sees Ward come out of the site "I think he's looking for the gun" Kie and JJ duck above to wall cautiously to see, they aren't holding hands anymore, "I think the gun just went down the drain!" they continued watching, "I think he's looking for the gun" Kie couldn't take this shit anymore, she was done, "Hey, hold this" she handed JJ the binoculars and started to climb further up the wall, JJ knew she was about to do something stupid, "W-What are you doing Kie" he asked with urgency, "WHAT IS WRONG WITH YOU!" "Kie-" JJ got up to where she was "MURDERER-" he covered her mouth just as she was finishing the word, "Get down!" he told her, they were all ducking again, he turned to look at her and whispered "What the hell was that!" she spoke in a louder tone "I don't care if he hears me he's a murder!" she's feisty, JJ probably should have thought about this part of her before she became his girlfriend, was she his girlfriend? the thought of it scared him for some reason. he had no idea why, that's a thought for later "Yeah and he's going to murder us Kie!" he snapped back "Guys-" Pope starts, JJ and Kie were still arguing, "JJ I just told you I don't care! did you not just se-" "GUYS!" Pope interrupted, they both looked up at him "He sees us we gotta go!" "Oh shit" "Come on we gotta get down!" they all scattered urging each other to get down, "Go go go go! Hurry!" Pope started climbing down the ladder first, then JJ desperately followed, Kie tried doing the same thing but stepped on JJ's hand in the process "Ah! My hand!" he fell back, knocking Pope off too, "Sorry- So sorry" Pope looked up, the camera, it was in pieces, "No no no" "Your kidding me- you fumbled it!" JJ yelled "You kicked me in the face!" JJ pointed at Kie "She stepped on my hand!" "I was trying to hurry!" She said back, "Guys we have no time lets just go!" so they all made a run for it getting in the car, they were all panting, soaked, JJ spoke from the back seat "Can someone fill me in... On WHAT THE FRICK JUST HAPPENED" he yelled, Pope groaned angrily and they both heard the ringing on Kie's phone, "Come on, come on, come on pick up!" she yelled at her phone, "Who are you calling!" JJ said, "Who do you think!" she said in the same tone of voice facing him, it took him back, they were both mad at each other, for obvious reasons, "The cops?!" Pope questioned "Who else am I supposed to call!" she snapped back at Pope, "WHY WOULD YOU CALL THE POLICE KIE THAT'S WARD!" JJ yelled, someone had picked up the phone and Kie began to speak to them "Hello! Sheriffs offic-" "THATS-" JJ tried to keep yelling "SHUT UP!" she yelled to him, "Hello!? Hi! Somebody's been shot at the grand street construction site-" JJ could tell how worried she was, he could hear her sobs while she spoke "You guys need to hurry because he's dying and I don't know if he's dead or not!" her tears were mixed with the rain drops on her face, "You guys need to hurry please!" "We gotta get out of here guys were sitting ducks" he lowered his tone of voice "What do you want me to do JJ?!" she said leaning back in her seat and putting her hand on her head "Just drive!" Pope told her "Ok ok!" she said, waving her hands around, and so they drove away, god knows how the rest of the night was going to go.

They drove back to the site to try to explain to Shoupe what happened when he arrived, "So... Ward shot him?" "Yes" Kie said with desperation, "Execution style? and then... cleaned it all up in 45 minutes?" he questioned "Yeah." she said, "Look we filmed the entire thing" Shoupe looked up, now he was interested, "You filmed it?" "Yes! but we can't show you because I stepped on JJ's hand and then- he kicked Pope and then, Pope dropped that camera and the piece of shit broke-"  Pope interrupted her "We needed to use a telephoto to get a close up image b- but it's gone and-" "So the dog ate your homework?" Shoupe said, They should have known he would be like this "No Shoupe I know how it sounds-" Kie started "Look I don't know what you kid's expect me to do with this! You guys drag me out here in the middle of the goddamn night for a whole lot of nothing! and it-" they were all angry, you could tell by their faces "No it's not nothing!" Kie spoke up but Shoupe continued "I'm hearing some crazy stories about how Ward Cameron is out on a killing spree!" Now JJ was even more angry, so he decided to speak "We are not making this up!" then Pope spoke "It's not a random killing spree! Gavin was his piolet, he was paid hush money because he was on the tarmac!" he said it sharply getting his point across, JJ continued for him "But the hush money wasn't enough, and Gavin didn't want to go to jail for them, and, apparently, Ward wasn't havin that, so he shot him! With the murder weapon that Gavin had might I add" Shoupe looked at all three of them "How do you know that.." "Well, Pope did this thing with his phone-" "I listened to their whole conversation!" Shoupe looked at Pope "You wiretapped" "Is that bad?" Kie said, her voice breaking again "Just- just stop" Shoupe continued "I've had enough" "What are you talking about Shoupe!?" JJ said to Shoupe as he walked away, "What is this!" Kie said "Someone was literally murdered!" Shoupe yelled back at them "Have you ever heard about the boy who cried wolf?" Kie followed after him "Shoupe why would we make this up!" "You kid's are wasting my goddamn time" JJ and Pope followed after Kie and Shoupe "Just listen to us for once!" "Why would we lie!" When they got down Shoupe started speaking to all the other police officers that had come "Alright false alarm there nothing up there we can go!" he shooed them away, Kie almost started to cry again "No no! Please don't go home!" she held her hands up, she was still walking after Shoupe "Can you just do you job for like 20 minutes!" "Hey! I know... your upset, and I know you think your friend was innocent.." "He is!" "But you weren't there, the only above ground witnesses say the exact opposite, alright? Your gonna make things alot harder if you guys, teenagers, get involved" he ended it at that and got in his car, all of them with defeated looks on their faces, They started walking away, JJ walked backwards and started to speak to Kie "I told you this would happen" and then looked at Pope "Like your the one that had to drop that  camera" Kie turned to JJ "It was your fault!" "Oh that was my fault?!" they were starting to yell now "Yeah! It was your fault!" "Why do you always take his side?" JJ said in her face pointing to Pope "Like why do you never take mine?!" Kie didn't have a chance to respond, she was looking at JJ sad, angry, she didn't know what to feel, why was he blaming this on her? "Guys, hey!" Pope yelled at both of them, JJ was the first one to look, "Were not out of this yet, we can still try get the gun" he said looking at the drain, JJ and Kie looked at each other, still heated from their argument, Kie was the first to walk the other way, her hand on her forehead "Kie-" JJ started "Let's just go" she said to both of them walking towards the car, JJ looked to the ground, he had to sort this out.
