God she couldn't believe she was actually doing this, what her life had come too, she didn't know, but apparently in was crawling in sewer water. "Just, uh, holler if you need anything ok? We'll ... holler back" JJ Maybank, always had great advice, "Very helpful, thank you" JJ didn't know how he felt about her doing this, it was too late now. She got to the point where there was no water, just dirty pipes that were pretty small so she just fit "Shit" she mumbled, Pope called out, "Kiara, you find anything yet?" That voice made her feel nothing, almost annoyed she wasn't sure why, she just hated the thought that Pope had liked her, she also hated that she was the one that didn't like him, the one that broke whatever it was off, of course, she felt bad, Pope was perfect on paper, she should like him in that way, but the heart wants what it wants, "Yeah Kie, do you see the gun?" JJ called out, there's that voice, that's the one she responded too "Nothing!" Pope called out again, "It's probably at the bottom of the catch basin!", Kie scooted along, grunting , when she reached the catch Basen, it was filled with water, not clean water, water, filled to the brim with rubbish, Kie was probably living her worst nightmare. JJ placed the crow bar on the top of the drain, there was an awkward silence between him and Pope that he didn't like, "Alright spit it out" JJ flicked his head to Pope, Pope had his arms crossed, JJ looked at him confused "What?" he said back "Just tell me" Pope continued, "Uh- what are you talking about?" "I see you vibing on Kie alright?" JJ didn't want to answer that, he couldn't tell if Pope was angry, sad, neutral? JJ looked down "Hey" Pope playfully slapped him on the side of the face so he would look up, when he did, Pope said "I'm not mad alright? Just tell me" JJ looked down again "There might be something goin' on" he started to smirk at the ground, and when he looked up, Pope was smirking too, JJ just wanted reassurance "Are you sure you would be okay if there was like... something going on? Like theoretically-" Pope cut him off "Dude I'm fine, me and Kie weren't even like in the same ballpark, I see how she looks at you, it's different man" Once again, JJ was smiling at the ground, "Yeah" he chuckled, taking in Popes words "Have you kissed?" He asked, "Once" he replied, "But like.... we haven't even talked about it yet, were kind of just-" "Cruising?" he finished for him "Yeah... yeah just cruising" Pope nodded, he had a small smile on his face, he pushed JJ's shoulder gently "I'm happy for you guys, I'm serious" "Thanks man.... Alright enough of this corny shit, we can't sleep on the job" They both chuckled.

Kie was once again on her hands and knees, crawling through sewerage water, she was looking at all the rubbish surrounding her, she picked up a soda can and threw it behind her "People are so shitty" she wriggled over to the point in the water where is was about waist deep, ok, she thought, she was really doing this, she took he hands out of the water, flicked them off and shivered in disgust, she leant down and felt something hard, she gasped and called out "Guys I think I found something!" JJ stood up from his leaning position against the drain "Wait you got it?!" JJ yelled back to her, she floated the object up to the surface, wait? is that? "Oh- oh! Oh my god! OH... my god! you guys there something dead in here!" JJ could hear the fear in her voice, both boys were listening closely, JJ started to fill with panic, "Wait like a person?!" Pope said before JJ could, she screamed out, almost a shriek, she didn't know if it was a body, but the thought of her being in not just sewer but dead body water made her want to throw up her stomach, "OH MY GOD! THERES SOMETHING DEAD! I REAPEAT, THERES SOMETHING DEA-" "LIKE A PERSON?!" Pope called out again, "I DON'T KNOW!" she yelled back "Oh my- oh my god!" she felt like she was on the verge of tears, "Kie don't touch it that's how you get worms!" JJ was not the best at calming people down in high pressure situations "I'VE ALREADY TOUCHED IT!" JJ spoke to Pope "Oh my god she going to get the worm" Pope looked at him, he pointed at the drain directing it to Kiara "That's yours to deal with now" JJ sighed, they both kept yelling out to her "Is it Gavin?!" "What is it?!" "Do you see the gun Kie?! Anything at all?!" She was just moving around the water, not knowing what to do "You guys owe me for life!" She yelled to them, Pope was leaning on the bars, JJ was now stood up his hands on his head "What if ward put Gavin in the sewer dude?" Pope felt a rumbling "Hold on" he told him, "That makes so much sense-" JJ continued. Kie was panting, leaning against the wall, the water started bubbling, she turned around, hitching breaths, "Do you hear that?" Pope said to JJ "What?" "Listen.." JJ leant down to where Pope was on the bars, "Oh shit" Kie said, voice trembling, "GUYS!" both boys stopped "GUYS THE WATER!" she yelled out, "Shit" Pope started "KIARA, GET OUT OF THERE NOW!" "KIE GET OUT!" JJ yelled after, the water came rushing in as she started to climb up the ladder, "I DON'T HAVE TIME! GUYS! SHIT.... OH NO-" JJ looked at Pope, "Jesus" he whispered under his breath Pope looked back at him and then they both started shaking the bars to try get it open, "KIE! KIE!" they both started to yell, the water was filling up by the second, there was nothing she could do, the water came bursting out through the bars where JJ and Pope stood, they where both holding on, JJ needed to get to her, but Pope was closer to the edge, he pushed on his arm "MAYBE THERES A MANHOLE! GO GO GO!" He kept pushing him to go, he needed Pope to start running before it was too late, once Pope got up JJ climbed across the bars to follow him, Pope was already running. She had made it to the top of the ladder, banging on the grate, "PLEASE! JJ! GUYS PLEASE!" she looked down at the water, it was making it's way upward, "HELP I'M OVER HERE!" they were running to the manhole where they could hear her voice, "KIE WE'RE COMING!" JJ called out "OK! OK... HURRY!" His reassurance was the only one she trusted, she kept banging on the grate, "I'M OVER HERE! THE WATERS COMING UP" A sigh of relief came out of her when both boys appeared above the grate, "PULL IT!" "Pope come on! Pull- pull!" They both started to pull the grate at the same time, she tried to push it up, nothing was working, "JJ Please-" "I know, I know I'm trying Kie!" Pope knew this was something serious, the fact she wanted him, only him, his reassurance, he knew it was something special, something he never expected. The water was to her neck now, "Hurry! Hurry!" her voice was urgent, filled with fear, They were both pulling the drain, using all their strength "Come on please!" she yelled out, it wasn't working, JJ immediately stood up, grabbing out his Swiss army knife from his back pocket, hands shaking, it was the only other thing he could think of "Kie were going to get you outta there I promise!" Pope tried to reassure her, JJ rattled the knife against the side on the drain desperately, she put her head up, if she didn't her face would be half way in the water, her voice shaking she continued to yell, "JJ! Pope! Please guys!" The knife broke, "Shit!" JJ threw it behind him and started pulling again, the water was completely covering her head now, her mind going blank, JJ pulled even harder when he saw the water come out of the drain and stopped hearing her voice, he needed to hear it again, he wasn't letting her be trapped in that sewer any longer, Both JJ and Pope were grunting loudly "COME ON COME ON!" JJ yelled, he could feel it open, slowly... slowly, and then... a gasp, both of the boys collapsed backwards, strained arms, half drowned Kie on her hands and knees coughing onto the road, JJ was looking down to Kie, he hated seeing her like this, he wanted to throw is arms around her and tell her he's glad she's alive, but he gave her space, she let out a loud groan "Oh my god.... what the hell just happened" both the boys were standing up now, they looked at each other and then JJ looked back down at Kie, "Kie you good?" she could hear the worry in his voice, she wanted to give him genuine reassurance but she didn't want to do anything in front of Pope, she didn't know he knew, so she just stuck her thumb up to him, "Never better" she said followed by another cough, he nodded and let out a small chuckle of relief, he got up from her hands and knees and leaned her hands on her legs, exhaling deeply, she reached into her back pocket "Holy shit that was crazy" Pope said under his breath, Kie looked to JJ, still panting but with a object in her hand, the gun, "This wasn't what we where looking for right?" She said to him smiling, he started laughing when he saw the gun, laughing with relif, god he loved her, she really did that, he whipped out his bandanna out his back pocket "Holy shit Kie!" Pope said laughing, JJ took the gun from her hand and started wiping it off, JJ had the biggest smile on his face, she could still feel the water in her lungs, but she looked up to JJ "Oh my god" he said, still laughing, she smile back up at him, also laughing, he held out his hand to help her up "We're gonna get this son of a bitch man!" Pope was laughing too, they did it, Kie held onto his hand and stood up, he held onto her hand when she was still standing, she didn't know why, but she held on to, she wasn't worried about Pope seeing, "Good Job" JJ said under his breath, her eyes where closed, she was still puffed, trying to regain her breathing, she nodded slightly "Yeah" he once again, got that big smile on his face "You did it Kie! You did it" JJ brought them both in for a hug, Ward was done, or at least they thought he was.
