"How'd it go" he said looking back at her as she walked back to get in the hammock with JJ "He took it... surprisingly well" "That's good" she nodded, and they both sighed, there was nothing else to say, except there was, there was so much to say, Kie desperately wanted to know how JJ felt about the other day, so she decided to try "Uh, hey Jayj-" he turned his head from looking out at the marsh to face her, he was scared, he didn't know what she was going to say, so he just replied with, "Yeah" she blinked, "Uh" she did not know how to start this conversation, "Um" she sat up, do did JJ, she didn't speak, it was like she didn't know how, it was like both of them where the only people on the world, he was waiting for her to say something, anything, before he does something he might regret, they leaned in again, "Kie" he whispered, could feel his breath on her mouth, "What were you going to say" he said in the same tone, he swallowed, their faces where inches apart, she shook head slightly and whispered "I don't know" she looked down at his lips, she contemplated doing it because of what happened last time he ran away, she didn't know if she could take that again, but he didn't run away, when should looked up he was doing the same thing, looking at her lips, and then her lips were on his, it was a soft kiss, it was one kiss, but it was everything, she pulled away first and looked him in the eyes, his eyes told her everything, they where crinkled at the corner, he was smirking, so she smiled back, a small smile, but it gave him everything he need, so she kissed him again, twice, she grabbed his face, he pulled back, oh god, she freaked him out, she pulled her hands down from his face, he grabbed her hand and put it back in the same spot it just was, he put his forehead against hers, "kie" he whispered her name again, "I just want you to think about this" she pulled her head back and looked him in the eyes, "I don't want you to do something, that you might.. regret" she shook her head, he spoke again, "you know me, you know where I come from, and I don't want to mess this up or-or make you jump into something and-" "JJ" he stopped "I don't care where you come from" he looked up at her "That doesn't matter to me, what matters is the person you are, that's it, not your past, you know that" he nodded "are you sure?" he whispered, "I've never been more sure" they both smiled and connected foreheads again, "What am I gonna tell pope" she said quietly, grabbing his hands, he closed his eyes "Shit" he took his head of hers and looked out into the marsh "I kinda forgot about that" he said scratching his forehead,  she nodded "It's fine, we just... won't tell him yet, play it out" he looked back at her and smiled, "Ok" she agreed, leaning in for another kiss, it was getting late, close to 9pm, they where about to kiss again when Kiaras phone lit up and buzzed from the hammock, she looked down at her phone and held it up to JJ "It's my handler" he let out a small laugh "I gotta go" she said quietly getting out of the hammock, wiping her shorts, he stood up too, she grabbed onto the sides of his flannel shirt and he grabbed her face and kissed her once again gently "I'll be here at 7:00 to get you" she said, he rolled his eyes as she let go of his shirt and started walking backwards "Be ready please" "I'll try!" he called out, she was walking the other way now, "I'm serious JJ!" she yelled back, he had his hands in his pockets and was smiling as he watched her walk away, before he met Kie, he never knew what it was like to look at someone and smile for no reason, but now that no reason had turned into his reason, his everything, he didn't know what was going to happen with them, but he knew he had her right now and that was all that mattered.
