"Megan?" She heard her name being called from afar. "Megan baby," she was shook awake from her sleep by her aunt. She sat up. Her eyes squinted trying to get used to the light of the day.
"What?" She asked, but it came out as a raspy whisper from the sleep.
"Wake up my superstar, we have a brunch to attend in two hours, you need to get ready."
"What kind of brunch?" Megan asked, hopping that someone had seen her video and taken interest in her, and was approaching to make a deal or something.
"Brunch, with my friends" Kelis informed, this statement dimming the light that shone in her heart, and it was evident on her face. Kelis did not let it go unnoticed. "Girl, you have to be patient. You are blowing up on TikTok and sooner rather than later you will be approached with a record deal."
"I know I just hope I won't make a total fool of myself." She said throwing the duvet off her laps and climbing off the bed.
"You are so talented just give it time, now get ready my friends are so excited to see you." Kelis Said walking out of her room to give her space to get ready. She got into the shower without even checking how her video had done, she didn't want to ruin her mood. Her expectations were high, may be too much high and maybe this would hurt her, but she couldn't help it. She got out of the shower and put on some make up light and natural with her curly hair up in a ponytail with some of the curls falling to her face. Her outfit was pretty casual but still elegant and her aunt approved of it. She saw herself in Megan, she saw what she could have been at her age and was very proud of her.******
"So, what do you think about Darren?" Razaiah asked, as the walked towards sage's wrangler, when it was the end of the school day.
"He is cool." Sage said shrugging, kind of tired, from the long day she had, but at least she did not have to introduce herself. She opened the backset and threw everything she had carried, inside, then proceeded to get in.
"Just cool," Razaiah pushed. Sage noticed this but she was too tired to mention anything about it.
"Yeah, he so fine though," she smiled as she said the last part, pulling her seatbelt across herself and fastening it. Razaiah was happy, at the improvement, and hopped that Darren would succeed to sweep her off her feet before Keith got anywhere near her. She was a little bit guilty for doing this to sage, but she had her best interest at heart, and she knew that Keith wasn't it for her sweet soul.
"But not as fine as Keith." Sage added, smiling looking enchanted by just the mention of his name, making razaiah sigh out loud so fed up of her mentioning him.
"Girl, there you go with that white boy again." She said, rolling her eyes and genuinely upset. "Just take me home bitch."
"What do you have against Keith, like why do you hate him so much?"
"He ain't what you think he is, now just take me home." Her voice was raised, clearly agitated by the conversation they were having.
"Ok, damn," sage said, not really sure why she was so worked up about him, whenever she brought up her name.
She drove them back to the mansion, in silence, no talking, no music, both of them drowned in the sea of their thoughts.
Sage knew something was up, something was wrong with her cousin but she did not know what, and did not want to push it. While on the other hand, Razaiah wondered why on earth she found him attractive in the first place. Why, her, the only correct explanation of the meaning of perfect was so beguiled by such a dirtbag, and this made her more and more determined to make sure three paths never cross, not on her watch.
