Megan was growing as a person and as a singer. She had a large following. Record deals had started coming her way, but she wanted something that was worth her while. This was mostly handled by her aunt and her group of friends, whom she knew to have her best interests at heart, but in the few months they did not take anything. No record deal, no working with other Tiktokers or YouTubers. It felt like she was stagnating, and at least meeting up with another person who help her bring fresh content would be great for her channel.

It was a big step that she would take, and without even telling her aunt, but what was it, she wouldn't even notice until after she posted about it, and if it did good, maybe kelis would see her point. She scrolled through her stash of unread emails trying to find someone who'd be great. It felt like she was doing something illegal as she replied to an email from some girl on TikTok who had really unique voice. From what her page looked like they definitely did not have anything in common, but that was good, for the views.

She could not help but feel too guilty, to even look into her aunt's eyes. But she kept on promising herself that it was for the better. They kept on talking with the girl, setting up the date they'd meet, and all of that. By the time the meet-up came, she had managed to silence her conscience, but was nevertheless nervous and scared. That morning started early for Kelis, which was perfect that she had time to get ready for the meet up, and even go.

When she got to the meet-up spot, a restaurant that Raina, the girl she was about to meet suggested. She walked in after parking the car. She had never been this nervous in all of her life. Despite this, she was glad that she was doing something for herself, by herself. Its not that she didn't want Kelis and her friends helping her out, she though that once in a while, they'd just observe and advice as needed.

She looked around for Raina, referring to a photo of her in her phone. She was a typical goth, all black clothes, rarely smiled and not to forget her dramatic eyeliner. Megan found it cool that she was brave enough to be different and herself, she was too, just differently. No one in that place matched her description. It was a pretty small place, with a lovely homey feel. It was surprising that Raina chose that place in the first place, but she simply brushed it off.

She was about to text her, when a blonde pretty girl stood up from her table and waved at her. She walked towards her, her brows scrunched up, and her head slightly tilted to the side, trying to figure out, if she knew her. Maybe Raina couldn't come, and therefore sent someone on her behalf.

"Hi, "Megan said, as she stretched her hand for a shake, but was taken aback when the girl pulled her in for a hug. Megan was not really a physical person, especially with new people.

"You have no idea how I've longed to meet you." The girl said, her lips in a big smile. She seemed so excited and Megan didn't mean to pop the bubble but she needed to ask about Raina.

"Thank you, you look so nice," she complemented her white floral dress to lessen the impact of the question. "Where is Raina?"

"Its me," she sighed in disappointment, as Megan watched all the excitement fall from her face. Megan found it weird how Raina revealed only the goth side of her, all the black make-up, hair and clothes, and the lack of facial expressions and expected her to recognise the complete opposite of that. Her expectations were illogical to Megan, and she found her somewhat entitled.

"Oh." Megan said, completely turned off by the fact that she was a scam. "I thought you were a goth."
"that's just for TikTok." She brushed it off as if it was nothing and offered her a seat. Up to that point, she was confused and turned off. She found it disrespectful to lie to other real goths, and disliked that half her content is trying to prove that she is truly a goth and playing with people's feelings and emotions.

"Oh," that was all she could say. Luckily, a waitress came to take their orders. Megan ordered sparkling water.

"Water, are you sure?" Raina asked. Megan found this annoying even though she was simply concerned. "You could eat whatever you want, you don't have to worry about no one judging you or anything." Megan couldn't help but feel judged for ordering water.

"That's what I want." She simply replied, not quite sure that the arrangement was going anywhere, or would go anywhere for that matter. Hep phone buzzed in her purse and she had never been happier to take a call. "Excuse me," she Sid, then walked off.

"What's good kelis?" She said, once she picked up the call.

"Hey baby," her aunt chirped on the other end of the line. Her joyfulness spread over to Megan, who smiled brighter than ever. "You'll never believe who I have with me," she said.

"Who?" Megan asked as her heart swelled with excitement and curiosity.

"You gotta come see for yourself. Get to my office." At this, she found herself in a dilemma. It was an option to stand up her aunt, but she felt bad that she had to cancel. She was weird and all, but still it wasn't kind. She walked back to the table, a slight haste to her step. She tried to act out that there was an emergency, so she felt less disappointed.

"I really have to go I'm so sorry I have to reschedule." She said, a feigned tremble in her voice, and painted her face with worry. And just as she hoped, it worked.

"You'd what you gotta do girl, text me." She yelled the last part as she walked off after a small hug.

She drove to the other side of town to her aunts office. She was always so proud when she read the name 'Kingsley' on the tower. Kelis was so young, yet so powerful and had accomplished so much. This was always intimidating to her. She always radiated dominance when she entered a room and elegance that came with it.

She parked in the basement parking lot and took an elevator to the 59th floor, the top most floor where her aunt's office was.

She waved to her personal assistant, as she went ahead and knocked at the door. She walked in without poking her head first as per the instruction of her aunt to never do that.

Her aunt was seated on the lounge area of her office, two males opposite her, and due to this, they did not see her enter the room, and in turn they couldn't see her.

"There she is." Kelis stated standing up and turn to her, making the two men turn to look her then stand. Once her eyes were set on them, it felt surreal and she could not believe her eyes.
