Sunday morning rolled in easy in the Kingsley household. Everyone was meeting at the dinner table, immaculately dressed ready for church. Church was mandatory for all the family members, and although sage had a difficult time adjusting to this, she was doing pretty fine. A pretty light breakfast was usually served, while Mia scrutinised her kids and told them to either change or adjust their clothing, to be 'presentable to God'  sage fought this reasoning, but Mia was not backing down so she gave up, but the more she stayed with them the more she came into terms with the rules.

As usual sage rode with Razaiah, Keo and Normani. She liked all of her cousins but was more pulled to the three. Elevation music was playing, to set the mood for church, and everyone seemed to vibe. Sage liked church, she Loved God too, but its the people she hated. She did not like being smiled at hypocritically by someone who used 'concern' as an excuse to pry into her private life. She did not like having to smile when she didn't feel like it, or having to hold small talk with people just to seem nice.

They were ushered quite nicely into church, even though a little late, and were led to where their parents and rest of the siblings were sat. Mia was throwing daggers, mad at their lateness but they just figured they'd lie about parking problems or something. Sage smiled at both her aunt and uncle, trying to alleviate their anger, but her smile fell into a frown when she saw Darren in a tan suit, looking nervous beside her uncle. She immediately sat back, wondering what the heck he was doing there. Her aunt cracked into a chuckle, on seeing her reaction. Through out the whole service, she could not get the look of surprise off her face and the wetness off her back that she appreciated her pink blazer for absorbing.

The dreaded end came, and she tried to rush outside, but her aunt held her back, while all the others left for a high end restaurant they always had brunch on Sundays.

"You mind riding with us?" Tyrell asked Darren as if daring him to say no, so naturally he accepted the not so polite offer.

"Not at all sir," he replied, sharp and perked unclearly trying to impress the man who only replied with a slight nod and then grabbed his wife's hand then proceeded to walk out of the church.

"Im so sorry," she whispered to him as they followed behind tyrell and Mia,

"You look stunning baby," he brushed it off and hugged her from the side, which caught her uncle's attention who stopped and motioned for him to catch up with him. Mia waited for her aware that sage had started to lose her cool.

"He is totally overreacting auntie," she said to her while they walked down the steps on the entrance of the church. She did not understand his actions nor believed he was helping anything.

"He just wants to protect you," she said, holding her hand trying to make her understand that he never meant any harm. "Besides you should be happy he is not completely telling you to cut him off."

"Oh, like he has the right." She snapped back at her aunt who seemed unbothered as she smiled at the valet and thanked her when she opened the door to the escalade when tyrell pulled up.

"He has all the right." She said as she slipped in the backseat. This shut her up. It sank in her that he had all the right in the world to go to all these lengths. It was her who broke the rules in the first place. It was toxic of her to want to pull the 'you're not my parent card' card on her aunt and uncle some time, whenever she needed to get her way. When, she did not know, but she knew she would. This made her feel a little bit guilty for this considering how good they were but she liked pushing buttons.

"Anybody hungry?" Tyrell chirped as he eyed the girls though the rear view mirror, like he had not threatened the guy sat on the passenger a few seconds back.
