1.15 | stephanie needs a new nose job

"rise and shine evangeline." nick sings waking the girl up from her sleep. she fixes her posture and cracks her neck before opening her eyes.

"AH! OH MY GOD NICK." lina jumps at the sight of her older brother's face pressed up against her capsule. she punches the capsule from the inside as nick laughs, detaching himself from her capsule.

"how do you even sleep like that?" nick asks his younger sister as she opens the door to her capsule yawning.

"honestly, you can't really feel it. as soon as my chip begins recharging, it's like an instant knockout." lina explains walking into the room's connected bathroom.

"ew." nick cringes at the thought of some electrical shock. lina grabs her toothbrush and begins brushing her teeth, watching her brother walk towards the door through the mirror.

"oh and i believe chase was looking for you, so... yeah." nick remembers before leaving the room.

lina stares at herself in the mirror wondering why chase wanted to speak to her. she shakes the thought and rushes to get ready.

she descends the stairs watching the family eat breakfast at the table.

"morning everyone !" lina shouts as she jumps the final step. she's greeted with a ton of good mornings and hello's as she grabs a banana.

"you sure that's all you want? i made plenty of breakfast." tasha asks the girl grabbing her shoulder as she walks back into the kitchen.

"thank you so much tasha but really i'm not that hungry." lina gives her a warm smile as tasha exhales and nods her head.

lina turns to face the dinner table where the family eats but her attention is caught by chase who leans against the entrance of the hallway wall. chase makes eye contact and nudges his head to the side, signaling her to follow him. lina turns to the family once more to give them a quick smile before following chase down the hall.

chase stops at the corner and pulls lina out of the other's sight.

"uh, nick said you were looking for me?" lina asks crossing her arms and leaning against the wall.

"yeah uh, i have a question and maybe it's just stupid but it got me thinking all night." chase explains slightly laughing awkwardly.

"shoot." lina hides her nerves as she holds an innocent look on her face.

"when we were stuck in the jail cell at the beach...." chase begins to recall watching lina nod remembering back.

"i heard you say something in latin." chase scratches the back of his head feeling embarrassed for eavesdropping. meanwhile lina starts to follow where this is going and begins to search her head for excuses.

"ad somnum. um, but the phrase translates to 'sleep' which then coincides with the officer falling asleep." chase connects the dots slowly whilst looking at lina for a response.

"oh. that. well uh, my family is very... spiritual. so we like to manifest things and uh i don't know i guess it worked that time or maybe it was just a coincidence?" lina shrugs her shoulders explaining as chase laughs nodding.

"right. totally understand. like i said, stupid question. but uh pretty cool that you know latin." chase smiles at the girl, nodding before walking back to the main room leaving lina by herself in the hallway.

lina smiles at herself before following him back with the others.
