Chapter 19

The weeks went by and Andy was feeling strange and very tired so one evening after putting Nathan to sleep she decided to take a test.
While she was waiting for the result she heard Robert enter the room.
Robert: "Andy are you in the bathroom?"
Andy: "Yes, a moment and I'll go out"
Robert: "ok I start to change"
Andy waited a few more minutes for the result and as soon as she saw her result she went to Robert, when she came out of the bathroom she saw him from his back and touched his back to make him turn towards her.
Andy: "I have a surprise for you" she said when Robert turned around, handed him the test and waited for his reaction.
Robert: "Are you kidding?"
Andy: "No" she said with tears in her eyes
Robert hugged her tightly "thanks Andy, I love you so much"
Andy: "I love you so much too"
They remained embraced for a few more minutes before splitting up.
Andy: "we're going to have a baby"
Robert: "Why did you decide to take the test?"
Andy: "I felt tired and strange, at first I thought it was because of the move but then I realized that my period was also a bit late so I decided to take the test, I'm sorry I did it without you but I don't I thought it was positive, in short, we've been trying for a while"
Robert: "Don't worry, I'm so happy"
After getting ready to go to sleep they got into bed and Robert immediately hugged Andy placing his hands on his stomach.
The night passed peacefully, but at the first light of dawn Andy felt ill and had to run to the bathroom to vomit, Robert heard her and got up following her.
Robert: "Don't worry, I'm here" he said while he held her hair and stroked her back.
When Andy thought she was done throwing up she got up from the toilet and she leaned against Robert's chest.
Andy: "I'm sorry" she said starting to cry
Robert: "Don't worry, everything is fine"
Andy: "I woke you up and you saw me throwing up, I'm a mess"
Robert: "I will stand by your side during every vomit"
Andy turned to look at him but another bout of vomiting took her.
When she finished throwing up she wanted to get up to go back but Robert stopped her and she picked her up to carry her to bed.
Robert: "Stay here for a moment, I'm going to make you some tea"
Robert came back 5 minutes later with tea and biscuits.
Robert: "I'm calling the department to say we'll be home today"
Andy: "no, we can't both stay at home, you go to work, I have no choice but to stay at home"
Robert: "okay, but whatever happens, call me right away"
Andy: "I guess I'll have to call my boss to tell him I won't be there" she said looking at him with a smile
Robert: "It's not a problem for your boss. Take a rest, I'm going to wake up the kids" he said giving her a kiss on the forehead before exiting the room.

Robert woke up the children and waited for breakfast downstairs, when Nathan arrived he immediately asked where his mother was.
Nathan: "Where's mom?"
Robert: "Mom is still sleeping, she was unwell last night"
Nathan: "I want to go to mom" he said starting to climb the stairs
Robert: "no, now go get dressed and then we'll go to school, let her sleep"

Robert took Nathan and Olivia to school and then went to work, as soon as he got there everyone asked about Andy and he said she was sick. Maya knew there was something else so she warned Vic that she was home on maternity leave and they agreed to go see Andy, Maya told Robert she wanted to go check on Andy and Robert agreed.
Maya went to get Vic and on the way to Andy's they called her.
Andy: "You really don't know how to mind your own business. You are terrible"
Vic: "we know that there is something under your feeling bad"
Andy: "I was seriously ill this morning"
Maya: "Andy Herrera who stays at home for being sick this morning when she once came to work even with a fever"
Andy: "Robert would never have allowed me to leave the house" after saying this there was a moment of silence, the team did not know that they lived together and above all that they had bought a house together
Vic: "How long have you lived together?"
Andy: "I'm sorry I didn't tell you but a lot has happened in this period between the move and the baby"
Vic: "MOVING?"
Maya: "BABY?"
Andy: "Damn me. Come home and I'll tell you everything"
Vic: "we are coming to you now, send the address"

While Andy was waiting for them, she got out of bed and settled down and waited for them sitting on the sofa, when they played she made them sit on the sofa.
Maya: "Since when did you move here?"
Vic: "What's this about the baby?"
Andy: "hello how are you not using it anymore?"
Maya: "We saw you and you're fine"
Andy: "Robert and I moved here about a month ago, we wanted to take it a step further and just before we moved we started trying for a baby and last night I found out I was pregnant. So please keep your mouth shut as nobody knows yet and I still have to go to the gynecologist"
Maya: "we are so happy for you"
Vic: "so this little girl will have a little cousin of her age" she said stroking her belly
Andy: "I'm sorry I didn't tell you all sooner but it all happened so fast and we wanted to keep it to ourselves for a while longer"
Vic: "Can we see the house?"
Andy: "Come on, I'll give you a tour. Here on the ground floor we have the living room, the kitchen, a bathroom and the guest bedroom," she said, showing them the house
Andy: "Here we have this French door that leads to the garden" she said showing them the garden
Back in the house she continued to show them the rest of the house.
Andy: "downstairs we have the garage and the laundry" she said as they climbed the stairs to go upstairs
Vic: "wow this house is beautiful"
Maya: "I knew a battalion chief made good money but I didn't think so well"
Andy: "We bought this house with old house money so we both contributed. Ok, on the first floor we have Olivia and Nathan's room with their bathroom and a small sitting room" she said showing them the plan, they went up to the top floor and Andy showed them the rest of the house.
Andy: "finally on the top floor we have my room and Robert's with bathroom and walk-in closet" she said showing them the room
Andy: "then this child's future room" she said pointing to her belly
Andy: "and finally a bathroom"
Maya: "it's a beautiful house"
Vic: "I got tired of climbing all these stairs"
Andy: "They scare me a little for when I'm at the end of my pregnancy" she said laughing.
They went back downstairs and sat on the sofa to chat.
Maya: "so Vic now you could give birth at any moment"
Vic: "not really, there are still two weeks left until the deadline but yes, now it could also be born. Also because I haven't had contractions or anything else, so I think there's still a bit to go"
Andy: "It all happened so fast with Nathan," she said as she thought back to that moment

*flashback*

Andy had now reached the end of her pregnancy, that evening she was lying on the bed with Ryan when she began to feel strong contractions and she sat up in bed.
Ryan: "hey is everything ok?"
Andy: "I have strong contractions they are very close together"
Ryan: "Do you want to go to the hospital?"
Andy: "I don't know" she said as another contraction came
Ryan: "I'll take you to the hospital"
While they got up Andy's water broke, while they were in the car Andy texted her father to warn him.
Andy: "ok I warned my father"
Ryan: "Can you believe that next time we go home we will have a baby with us?"
Andy: "I can't wait to be able to hold him in my arms, even if now I just want this pain to go away"

They arrived at the hospital and examined Andy, she was 7 cm dilated and they told her they would come back to visit her an hour later in the meantime they recommended exercises to relieve her pain.
When they returned to see her she was ready to push and after about half an hour Nathan was born and in Andy's arms.

*end of flashback*

Andy: "Are you stopping here for lunch?"
Vic: "Fine for me"
Maya: "I should theoretically go back to work but you know how to calm him down anyway"
Andy: "MAYA!"
Maya: "What is it? You got pregnant somehow..."
Vic: "I have a question, are you going to get married?"
Andy: "I honestly don't know, we never talked about it, he's already been married maybe he doesn't want to remarry"

They continued to talk then Andy prepared lunch, after lunch they said goodbye and Andy went to get Olivia and Nathan from school, when they got home they had a snack then Olivia went to do her homework while Nathan went to play in the room her.
Andy gave Nathan a bath and then fixed dinner so it would be ready when Robert got back, after dinner she and Robert put Olivia and Nathan to bed and then Robert tidied the kitchen while Andy got ready for bed .
Robert went to bed when he finished cleaning.
Andy: "I have a visit with the gynecologist on Friday morning, you'll have to find someone to replace us for a couple of hours"
Robert: "Don't worry about that"
Robert started reading his book and saw that something was wrong.
Robert: "What's bothering you?"
Andy: "no nothing"
Robert: "You know you can talk to me about everything"
Andy: "I'm scared of when I'll have to tell my dad I'm pregnant"
