Chapter 20

Robert started reading his book and saw that something was wrong.
Robert: "What's bothering you?"
Andy: "no nothing"
Robert: "You know you can talk to me about everything"
Andy: "I'm scared of when I'll have to tell my dad I'm pregnant"
Robert: "Why?"
Andy: "When I told him I was pregnant with Nathan she didn't take it very well"

*flashback*

Andy and Ryan had invited Pruitt to dinner to tell him they were expecting a baby.
Andy: "Dad we have to tell you something"
Ryan took her hand to reassure her
Pruitt: "Are you getting married?"
Ryan: "no, no sir at least not yet"
Andy: "We're going to have a baby!" she said smiling
Pruitt: "marriage was better. Can I speak to you in private Andrea?"
Andy nodded, inside she felt hurt, they went into the bedroom and closed the door.
Pruitt: Does this seem like the time to get pregnant? You have just finished the academy, you have your whole life ahead of having children, wouldn't you rather be captain sooner?"
Andy: "Dad I can still become captain even if I'm a mom"
Pruitt: "I don't like your behavior Andrea and then with Ryan" he said pushing her against the wall, Andy started to cry.
Andy: "I admit it I didn't want to become a mother now but it happened we used the precautions but as you well know they don't always work, I won't give up this baby, I'm a grown woman and I can decide for myself. Now can you please do me the favor of getting out of my house"
Pruitt exited the room and retrieved his jacket before leaving.
Ryan: "Goodbye sir"
Pruitt: "hello"

Ryan went to Andy and found her sitting on the floor leaning against the wall crying.
Ryan: "hey don't worry she'll be fine" he said hugging her
Andy: "I thought he would be happy for me but he wasn't, I know perfectly well that 24 years is a bit early to have a child but what can I do now it's there and I'm not going to kill it"
Ryan: "I wasn't thinking about that, I'll be with you no matter what"
Andy: "Thank you, I love you"

*end of flashback*

Robert: "now it will be different, you are almost 30 years old, you are captain of the best barracks in the city and you are different than 5 years ago"
Andy: "I know but I'm afraid of how he might take it"
Robert: "don't worry everything will be fine, now sleep"
Andy: "oh one more thing, I told Maya and Vic about the baby"
Robert: "If that was what you felt like doing, you did well. Goodnight My Love"
Andy: "Goodnight my love" he said giving him a kiss.

That night they slept with each other as usual, in the morning Andy woke up first and strangely she didn't feel nauseous so she went to the kitchen and had a coffee before going to wake up the children.
Robert woke up as Andy was on his way to wake Olivia.
Andy: "good morning princess, it's time to wake up" he said of her as she sat on the bed next to her and gave her kisses while he cuddled her.
Olivia: "uhm good morning Andy"
Andy: "get ready, I'll wait for you downstairs for breakfast"
She did the same with Nathan and then went downstairs to wait for them to have breakfast together, after breakfast Robert took Olivia to school and Andy took Nathan to kindergarten.

They arrived at the station practically together and as they were entering Andy asked a question.
Andy: "we could start taking the same car to get to work, so we pollute even less"
Robert: "It would mean telling the team"
Andy: "Let's tell her because I'm pregnant and she'll start seeing each other soon, but I don't want to tell her about the pregnancy today"
Robert: "all right, see you above" he said giving him a kiss on the head, before going to their respective offices to put down their things.
Slowly everyone started to arrive and sat down at the table to have breakfast, Andy and Robert arrived in the kitchen last and decided to make their announcement.
Robert: "We have something to tell you"
Andy: "Robert and I are together and for about a month we moved into a house and live together" she said taking his hand
Robert: "we thought it was right to tell you, we didn't want to have secrets from you"
Ben: "I'm so happy for you"
Travis: "You have to invite us to the new house"
Robert: "we could organize a barbecue"
Jack: "BBQ? How big is this house?"
Andy: "enough"
Dean: "Why doesn't Maya say anything?"
Maya: "Vic and I already knew that"
The team hugged and congratulated them before starting their working day.

Friday came quickly and that morning Andy and Robert had their first visit with Carina to the gray sloan.
Andy: "I'm very upset what if something goes wrong?"
Robert: "Don't worry, everything will be fine"
Carina: "Andy please it's your turn"
They entered Carina's office and she asked them a few questions before visiting Andy.
Carina: "ok, now lie down on the couch and lift up your shirt"
Carina put the gel on Andy to do the ultrasound.
Carina: "congratulations you are 10 weeks old"
Andy: "wow already? I didn't think I was that far"
Robert: "Is the baby okay?"
Carina: "everything is perfect, see you next month and if we're lucky we might know the sex"
Andy: "Okay, thanks"
Carina: "for any problem, don't hesitate to call me, now I have to go and deliver a baby"

Andy settled back and they left Carina's office to go to the car, while they were in the corridor they met Luke.
Robert: "hey man what are you doing here?"
Luke: "oh Vic's water broke and you know how it goes from there on so we're waiting for our princess to be born"
Andy: "So it was your baby that Carina was talking about"
Luke: "Pretty? What were you guys doing at Carina's?"
Andy: "I thought Vic told you, he can't keep a secret even under torture"
Robert: "we are going to have a baby, today was our first visit"
Luke: "Congratulations guys! I'm sorry to leave you but I have to get back to Vic"
Robert: "Take it easy and congratulations"
Andy: "Goodbye"

While they were in the car Andy kept looking at the photos excitedly, when they arrived at the station and everyone was curious where they had been.
Travis: "Come on, tell us where you've been"
Robert: "We had to sign paperwork for the new house" he said, making up an excuse
After Andy gave assignments for the day, he called Maya in his office.
Maya: "so where were you today"
Andy: "We had the first visit for the baby" she said excitedly
Andy: "Look at the photos" she said showing him the photos of the ultrasound
Maya: "I'm so happy for you"
*knock Knock*
Robert: "disturbance?"
Andy: "You never disturb"
Robert: "I wanted to say goodbye before going to the department meeting" he said giving her a kiss
Andy: "I love you"
Robert: "Me too and I love you too" he said caressing Andy's belly and giving her a kiss
Robert: "I'm going, see you later"
Robert left and they returned to the conversation.
Maya: "You are too cute"
Andy: "I'm lucky to have found a man like Robert"
Maya: "I hope I too have a family like this with Carina, now we've moved in together"
Andy: "Come on! It's a good thing. Ah almost forgot we met Luke this morning, Vic is having the baby"
Maya: "Really?"
Andy: "Yeah, I'll let you know when I get an update now go to work and hold can you keep a picture of the baby, I photocopied it for you"
Maya: "oh thank you, my new nephew"
Andy: "Keep it well" he said to Maya as she was leaving the office.

In the afternoon the call came from Luke in which he said that the baby was born so in the afternoon they all went to see little Ruby.
