Peri was doing her usual morning routine for school. 'C'mon, please not today.' She thought struggling to get her hair shaped. She brushed her teeth and washed her face then took a look in the mirror. "Great. That's not going anywhere anytime soon." She said pulling her lip looking at Lapis' bite. She sighed.
She hopped in her car and set the course for Lapis' house.
*Ring Ring Ring*
"Hello?"
"I'm in the driveway, are you ready?"
"Yeah, just give me a sec."
"Ok, just hurry. We're gonna be late."
"Coming!" Lapis said running out the door.
Peri opened the car door for her. "Thanks!"
"You can get off the phone now." Peri said laughing with Lapis.
*TimeSkip*
"See you in third period, Peri."
"Yep."
"Oh, wait! Why're you wearing a mask?" She asked pointing at her space themed mask.
"J-Just felt like wearing one today. And it's a little cold in class." All lies, in fact first period was one of her warmest classes.
"K then, bye!"
*FirstPeriod*
"Good morning, Peridot." Garnet greeted with a small smile.
"Oh, good morning Garnet."
Garnet stared at her for awhile. "Um...can I help you?" Peri asked nervously.
"Why are you wearing a mask? Are you sick?"
"Yes! Uh...yeah, very very sick. S-So I should definitely not remove this mask for any reason at all!"
"Hm, well get better soon, Peridot. See you during lunch." She said moving seats.
Peri sighed in relief. 'Close one.'
*Lapis' SecondPeriod*
"Pearl, Peri's wearing a mask and I don't know why."
"Ok?" 'Random.'
"Garnet said be carful since she's sick, but she told me she was wearing it because she wanted to."
"Maybe it's because she has a pimple on her face or some other mark on her face. I'd hide it too. But I'm not sure."
"Mark on her face." Lapis repeated the line trying to think what it could be.
She gasped. "MARK ON HER FACE!!"
"Refrain from random outbursts please, miss Lapis." Ms. Opal said.
"That's that same girl I was talking about, the girl who was sitting next to Jewels when she screamed like that."
"Hmm...is that so?" Two students whispered to one another.
"Yes, ma'am. Sorry."
"What is it?" Pearl asked.
"Last Saturday I went over her place-"
"You're already going to each other's house?!"
"Of course. We were playing and I bit her lip as proof to show everyone she's mine." She said proudly.
Pearl was wide eyed. "So you bit her? To let everyone know that you're together, you bit her? Couldn't there have been another way that's not, you know...visible?"
