"You're crazy" Shaurya said half asleep from the other side of the phone.
"This plan will work surely!" I said,
"She's going to get more angry."
"You think?"Shaurya sighed. "You're alright, Shekhar?"
He asked with concern.
"I don't know..." I replied faintly.
"I just want to apologise properly."
"But faking to be in the hospital?"
"It's a stretch isn't it?"
"It's upto you man. You think this will work? I'm here to help you regardless." Shaurya reassured.* * *
20 hours till apology
My plan was to get her full attention first. She seemed too upset to just come back with a "I need to talk. I'm sorry." So to make her feel concerned enough to talk to me and come to meet me somewhere, I had to do the hospital thing.
But honestly, I started to get cold feet about this plan. Maybe she would have come with just a simple call? But I wanted to do something extra.
"Stop overthinking." I looked at Shaurya who seemed to have noticed me zoning out.
I scratched my head. I saw her stand by the vending machine with her mentor. They seemed to have some serious conversation but there was exchange of few smiles as well.Shaurya will tell her I'm in the hospital which should get her attention. It will right? She will care about this right?
Well, after that he will offer her to take her to the hospital but instead stop by my house to 'grab a few things.'
She will go with him upstairs to my house and I'll wait there and apologise. Sounds like a plan?

Present
Gauri just stared at me with a ... I don't even know how to describe this expression she has on her face. I mean I get it, anyone would be sort of flabbergasted upon hearing all this.
Ah yes. Flabbergasted is the right adjective.
Gauri's POV
"You're a fucking idiot." That's all I could blurt out at the moment. Is he this immature? What? What? What? What? what was this?!
I don't know if I should be happy he thought all this to just apologise to me or I should smack some brain into his empty skull.
Shekhar looked to be taken aback by my words. I sighed and shook my head. "Why did you think I wouldn't listen to you by just a simple call?"
"I wanted it to be spec-"
"Shut up. You know how worried I was?"
He looked down but even in the dim ambience I could see he had a small smile on his face hearing this.I saw him walk towards the light switch and switch on the lights. Upon which the room finally revealed itself and I saw a chart paper stuck to the wall behind him.
"I'm sorry!" written on it. My eyes went wide.
My eyes then wandered across the room and saw a dairy milk silk on the table with a pink ribbon tied and also a small bouquet of flowers. It was just 4 roses. But it was enough.
"I..."
I don't know what to feel. Or to say. I feel weird?
I heard Shekhar stutter, "I-I know this looks cringe but I swear! I swear I'm sorry okay?"
Yes. It's all very cringe. But why am I controlling my smile right now?
"You're ... so extra.." I said as I was still observing things around.
"Yeah I- uhm. I thought that you-"
"I deserve this?""Ye-yes.."
Wowie.
I appreciate this so much but I'm still shocked you know? Like I did NOT expect this at least. This is the same guy who's text I was waiting for and getting upset over not getting any?
But he was preparing this?
He looks cute right now.
"Alright. I forgive you." He sighed in relief.
"But dare you to repeat."
"It won't be! Friends?"I laughed. When did he become so childish like this?
"Friends."

A/N: not quite confident about this chapter. But honestly, Shekhar had to be shown cringe here because this is all new for him himself. So, he went all out. It's cute tho, right?
