Being friends with a woman is weird. It's my first time actually. I'm not really good with bonding with the opposite gender actually.Infact, I've never had any female friendships in the past, and I know I know what you're probably thinking, "Shekhar? How did you date women then?"
Let's say they asked me and I said yes. I've dated 2 women in my life till now and you already know about my recent past one. The first one was back in high school.
Would I take myself as some arrogant man who's famous among women? Absolutely not. My crushes never liked me back. You know those scenarios where you prepare yourself mentally before asking your crush out?
And you're like, "the worst she can say is no" but instead she starts laughing on your face and her besties are also there and the next thing you know you're the joke everyone is laughing on in your school?
That joke was me.
Women are brutal. They really are.
I had a friend in class 8th, his name was Vishal and he was madly in love with this girl who's name was Preeti. She was in section C while me and Vishal were in section D.
And when I tell you he was mad for her, I mean it. M.A.D.
Starting from the assembly, she would stand in the line right beside us as we stood section wise and girls and boys had separate lines.
She was short so she would stand around 5-6 students front and he would just look at her from back and smile.
Then during lunch time he would stand outside her classroom pretending to wait for his friends when in reality he just stood there to catch a glimpse of her.
He stood there thinking that this time when she'd come out, he'd interact with her. A simple hello or just a 2 second eye contact. Anything.
But he couldn't. Poor guy was too shy.
His way of admiration was silent and everytime I looked at him from afar I just thought one thing. How stupid he looked. With that stupid awkward smile everytime she passed him without even looking at him. She didn't even know he existed.
But he? He was blinded. Until the next year when we found out she changed her school.
I remember his bumped out face and how sad he was till summer vacations. We never met Preeti after that.
And Vishal? He's a married man now. Married to Bhavna whom he met on Shaadi.com and he's happy.
And the thing is that I used to find Vishal stupid whenever I saw him look like a silent simp.
But I guess, I finally understand his point of view.
