Snippets of alternate outcomes in the lives and enduring love story of Can Divit and Sanem Aydin.
When I started out with this story, I only intended to loosely base the 'short piece' on the events in Bolum (Episodes) 17 & 18 however, I got such pos...
I'm jealous of the rain That falls upon your skin It's closer than my hands have been I'm jealous of the rain I'm jealous of the wind That ripples through your clothes It's closer than your shadow Oh, I'm jealous of the wind, cause
I wished you the best of All this world could give And I told you when you left me There's nothing to forgive But I always thought you'd come back, tell me all you found was Heartbreak and misery It's hard for me to say, I'm jealous of the way You're happy without me
I'm jealous of the nights That I don't spend with you I'm wondering who you lay next to Oh, I'm jealous of the nights I'm jealous of the love Love that was in here Gone for someone else to share Oh, I'm jealous of the love, cause

"Can. Can!"
Can shook his head and turned to Deren. "Ne?"
"I've been talking to you for the last few minutes and you haven't heard a word I said. This is important, Can" Deren shrilled as she glowered at him through narrowed eyes.
He rubbed the back of his neck, stood and strode over to the window, gazing out but not really seeing anything.
"I'm sorry, Deren. I've got a lot on my mind." He turned back to face her. "What were you saying?"
"What's up, Can? You've been prowling around the office like a bear with a sore head, snapping at everyone. You can talk to me. I'm your friend." Deren's eyes gentled, her voice was low and soft. "Has this got anything to do with Sanem?"

"Deren! Lütfen, let's focus on work!" His thunderous voice seemed to vibrate in his chest. Hearing her name still sent him into a spiral of panic. If he started talking about her, he would wind up a blubbering mess. The agency was not the place, nor was this the time.
Waving his hand for her to carry on, he returned to his seat. Restless, his eyes wandered around his office. Memories of their time together in this same office assailed him: sitting close to Sanem on the sofa, sharing stolen moments out of their working day, drinking çay. He remembered when he'd tended to her knee which she'd grazed while scaling the fence after he'd caught her sneaking around his house. Stifling a snort, he recalled how she'd clutched on to her list of bearded men who'd attended the anniversary gala in search of her 'Albatross'. He thought back to how he'd revealed he was the Albatross and how she'd quizzed him when she found out.
