JOHN'S POV

I was stood at the bottom of a winding staircase in Lucy's house, twiddling my thumbs and breathing heavily whilst I stood next to Gordon; her father. I was to take her on a date that night, I'd had the whole evening planned out in my head for days. I even ditched wearing my leather jacket, which I very rarely took off. I guessed a tatty old coat infused with the smell of stale cigarette smoke was not the best way to pull a girl I liked, therefore I wore my best sweater and made sure I shaved before I left the house.

I heard footsteps and looked up the staircase. Lucy was there.

She wore a baby blue dress that fell to her knees, it complimented her eyes. She'd pulled back a part of her hair and put a matching blue bow in it, it made her face stand out more and I noticed what an equally-as-gorgeous side profile she had. She always had such beautiful skin, with tiny freckles speckled across her cheeks and the most adorable dimples appeared when she smiled. She looked beautiful, and she was a beauty I felt I was not good enough for.

I greeted Lucy and bid a farewell to her parents, we walked out the front door and I noticed how the moonlight glimmered and reflected off her pale skin.

LUCY'S POV

I was walking down the road with John, only street lamps and moonlight lit the streets and there was a sense of mysteriousness in the city. We were on a 'surprise date' and he refused to tell me where we were headed. I looked forward to this night all week, John is like my drug, I can never get enough of him, he makes me feel dizzy and he gives me the sense of euphoria, a feeling I had never experienced before I'd met him.

He held my hand the entire way, his palms were warm and sweaty and he was acting unusually quiet. We walked for several minutes into the centre of town and he took me down a dark alley way, I heard the faint booming of music come from somewhere.

I started to worry, I didn't recognise where we were and there were no lights down the path,

"John... where are w-" I began.

"Shh Luce, c'mon." John said, just as we reached a little door on a very huge, ancient looking building. "Shut yer eyes."

I did as he told me. I heard him unlock the door, and with my eyes still shut, he led me inside.

"Can I open my eyes yet? Where are we?" I asked anxiously. I had not the faintest idea of where John Lennon would take someone on a date and the dark alley way, booming music and tiny old door did not look promising.

"Just keep 'em closed, I've got ye."

With my eyes still firmly shut, he led me through another door and took me through to the destination.

"You can open yer eyes now." John's voice echoed.

The library. John had taken me to the Liverpool Central Library, a historic, beautiful and enormous building in the city centre.

I stood in front of a huge marble staircase surrounded by an endless amount of shelves that stood at least 30ft tall, stacked with books. It was such a beautiful building, the ceiling had outstandingly detailed paintings on that dated almost 100 years old, and not a soul was there but ourselves.

At the top of the marble stair case was a small table, a table set for two; with candles burning and a wicker picnic basket. I was speechless and a tear formed in my eye.

As I continued to look at the place in awe, John took my hand and escorted me up the stairs to the table, he pulled out my chair for me and kissed my hand. His lips were soft and warm.
