LUCY'S P.O.V
I was sat down, peering out the window of the train admiring the German landscape whilst Vicky was fast asleep on my shoulder. We had both endured an agonisingly long train journey from Liverpool to St. Pauli, we were to see the boys again at last! It had been 4 weeks since they left to pursue their musical career in Germany, I was beyond happy to finally see John again! Vicky and myself had travelled alone, our parents had agreed to help pay for the journey and happily let us go. It felt as if we had our freedom at last!
We were to stay at Astrid Kirchherr's home, a German photographer that the boys had become friendly with whilst in Germany. In almost every letter I received from John, he would mention Astrid's name and rant for pages about how amazing she is, I must admit I felt envious. None the less, I was excited to finally meet her and stay in her house, I'd been told a lot about her; including how peculiar yet beautiful her home is.
The train pulled in at the station, I looked out the window and noticed what a huge and busy place it was. I suddenly started to panic, what if I got lost and couldn't find John or the boys? Vicky was awake again and had grabbed both of our suitcases and we headed towards the doors. We flooded off the train along with everyone else, I was still panicking, I couldn't see anybody I recognised.
"Vicky, where are they?" I said, frantically scanning the platform.
"I, I don't kno-" she began, before interrupted by a shout.
"Girls!" I heard an English voice that I recognised call out. "Luce! Vick!" John! It was John! Before I had a chance to turn around and greet him, I had been grabbed by my waist and pulled to the side of the platform, out of harms way.
"John, I've miss-" but before I could even finish my sentence and tell him how much I had missed him, I was welcomed by a long and tender kiss. Afterwards, I got to greet Stu, the only other lad that had come with to pick us up. Klaus Voormann, a close friend of Astrid, had taken John and Stu here in his car and there was only room for two of the boys to tag along.
I cannot possibly put what I felt into words, I had longed for John for weeks and to be back in his arms again felt exhilarating! I could gaze upon his enchanting eyes again, connect our lips and also connect our souls. It felt as if a part of me was missing whilst John was gone, as if all the mischief and excitement had faded away. I snuggled under his arm in the back of Klaus's car on the journey to Astrid's house, we didn't stop chatting until we arrived!
When Stu, Vicky, John and myself finally arrived at Astrid's it was the early morning, around 10am. Vicky and myself had travelled all throughout the night and we were both exhausted to the point we could barely function. Klaus let us into Astrid's house, it was beautiful! As we all entered, a petite woman with extremely short hair came and welcomed both Vicky and myself, it was Astrid! She was wearing all black, a very strange combination of clothes, something that I was not used to seeing in Liverpool, yet she still looked very glamorous and cute. She said hello and asked us how we were, then took us through to the living room, John told me she spoke very little English but I shouldn't worry.
All the other boys were in the living room, as soon as Vicky and myself entered a roar of "Welcome"'s overwhelmed us! I ran to Paul straight away and gave him a huge hug, I had missed him almost as much as I have missed John. He's one of my closest friends and over the past four weeks I have really yearned for him and his spontaneous trips to my door step with freshly baked muffins!
After I had the chance to greet all the boys, get properly introduced to Astrid and Klaus and have a tour of her home- and I must admit, it's just as beautiful and peculiar as John made it out to be in the letters- Vicky and myself finally got shown to our sleeping quarters so we could have a well needed nap. We slept thoroughly for a good five hours, it was half past five and getting dark outside when we finally awoke!
