Something you didn't have to deal with when you were pregnant with Paisley was swelling to the point you couldn't wear your wedding and engagement rings. It's not that you didn't swell, you just didn't have an engagement or wedding ring. You weren't prepared when the day came that your rings no longer fit.
Jack was watching Paisley while you were getting ready for the day, he got her set up with some toys before walking into your bathroom to check on you. When he walked in, he saw you in tears. He knew you were a little more emotional today, but the last thing he expected was to walk in on you sobbing.
"Are you okay baby?" Jack asked, walking over to your side.
"My rings don't fit." You cried, Jack sighed in relief before wrapping his arms around you, you laid your head on his chest.
"That's okay, you don't have to wear them." Jack reassured you, rubbing your back as you continued to cry.
"But I like them." You continued to cry. "You know how much they mean to me." You said, Jack used one hand to wipe your tears.
"I know. Just because you can't wear your rings, doesn't mean we love each other any less." Jack said before pulling away from the hug. "Here." Jack said, taking his own wedding ring off, trying to place it on your finger, but it was too big for you.
"Do you want me to get you another ring to wear for now?" Jack asked you, putting his own ring back on. You shook your head.
"No, it's okay." You sighed softly. "Thank you though." You smiled softly.
Of course, even though you told him you didn't want him to buy you another ring, Jack still did.
Jack walked into the living room, holding a small box behind his back. You were sitting on the couch playing with Paisley.
"So, I know you told me no, but I got you something." Jack said, sitting down next to you, Paisley making her way to Jack's lap. "Can you give this to Mommy?" Jack asked Paisley, handing her the box, she nodded before handing the box to you.
You took the box from her, thanking her before opening it, seeing a ring that was almost identical to your wedding ring.
"Baby, I told you, you didn't have to but thank you." You said, your eyes already starting to tear up. Jack leaned over to kiss you softly.
"It was the closest they had." Jack explained as he took the ring out of the box, putting it on your finger. "They also said we can get your rings re-sized, but I thought this would be better since it's temporary." Jack explained.
"I love it, and I love you." You said, wiping the tears that had fallen before kissing Jack again.
"I love you too baby." Jack smiled and Paisley noticed your tears.
"Mommy sad?" She asked and you shook your head.
"They aren't sad tears, they are happy tears." You said and she nodded, you leaned forward to kiss the top of her head and she wrapped her arms around you as well as she could to give you a hug.
