You and Jack had been having small arguments all day, most of them over nothing specific. You were both just having a day where you were in a bad mood. While most of the time, you were good at talking it out, neither of you exactly wanted to, knowing the other was also in a bad mood.
"Jack, can you watch the girls for a few minutes?" You asked Jack. Paisley and Olive were running around the living room, playing with random toys.
"What was that?" Jack asked, looking up from his phone where he was currently responding to some work-related texts. You rolled your eyes.
"I asked if you could watch the girls for a few minutes." You repeated your previous question.
"Yeah, give me one minute and then I can." Jack responded, looking at back at his phone.
"Whatever, just forget about it." You said, and Jack looked at you again, but he was confused this time.
"Did I do something wrong?" Jack asked.
"No." You said, looking away from him.
"It seems like I did something wrong." Jack muttered underneath his breath.
"Well, you didn't do anything so you couldn't have done anything wrong."
"I was doing something for work." Jack defended himself.
"You could have just said that." You said, Paisley and Olive watching you two argue from where they were playing with their toys.
"If it was that urgent you could have said something. I'll watch them now." Jack said.
"I said just forget about it." You said before getting up and walking out of the room.
"I think Mommy and Daddy are arguing." Paisley whispered to Olive.
"Is Mommy mad?" Olive asked Jack as soon as you left the room, her eyes tearing up at the thought of her mom being mad.
"I think so, but it will be okay." Jack reassured Olive as she walked over to Jack, crawling into his lap.
"She still loves you right?" She asked, Paisley making her way to where Olive and Jack were.
"Of course, we still love each other I promise." Jack reassured them.
"You're really sure? Because sometimes when Olive's mad at me I feel like she doesn't love me." Paisley asked.
"I'm 100% sure. Sometimes people argue, but that doesn't mean I love your mom any less, or that she loves me any less. When does Olive get mad at you?" Jack asked Paisley.
"In the mornings. She's mad at everyone." Paisley said.
"I am not!" Olive denied, crossing her arms. Jack and Paisley shared a look making Olive pout and climb off Jack's lap, walking out of the room exactly like you had a few minutes ago.
"She's just like her mom." Jack muttered underneath his breath, making Paisley giggle. Later that night you, and Olive, had forgiven Jack.
