Maoyu was sleeping in an old storage room in the basement when she was awaken by the school dismissal bell.

She frowned at the loud ringing in her ear and she covered it with her arm which did little to muffle it. Her eyes were closed tightly and she gritted her teeth as she mentally prayed for it to end soon.

That was one of the longest thirty seconds of her life.

She groaned to herself as she uncovered her eyes and slowly opened her eyes.

Although the closet was dark, she could see everything even to the finest detail. She had found out about her new 'night vision' this morning when she was napping in the janitor's closet. Even after a day of sleeping in closets and storage rooms, it still took her a minute to get used too.

If only her hearing was as easy to adjust to. You would think with how loud she played her music, it would be easiest change. Instead, it was the hardest thing to adapt too. There was so much going on at once, everything sounded chaotic and it threw her off. She found it disconcerting and disorienting while giving her horrible migraines.

That's why she skipped class today and stayed in places that were dark and quiet.

Even so, she still found today draining. She was ready to go home.

She waited until most students left for home or their clubs to come out of the storage room and leave the basement. She made sure no one else was around before leaving.

Moments before the bell rung, someone came down there looking for her.

How they knew she was there, she didn't know, and she wasn't too pleased about it either.

When she woke up, gold eyes were staring down at her and she was emitting a red aura. The distinct smell of cat made her nose flare and she could also pick up other sweet and savory scents like potato chips and chocolate.

It didn't take her long to recognize one of Rias' lackeys from the Occult Research Club. It was that short, white haired girl, Koneko Toujou, who also happened to share homeroom with me.

In simplest terms, she was not someone she wanted to see or deal with.

~~ Flashback ~~

"What do you want?" Maoyu asked when she saw the girl wasn't going to say anything.

"I'm here on an errand for Rias Gremory." the politeness of her words didn't match her tone at all. "Would you mind coming with me?"

"Yes, I do." Maoyu groaned and rolled over with her back facing her. "Tell her I'm not interested in joining her little cult."

She doesn't see the frown on the girls' face and treated like she wasn't there.

"There is very important information that President Gremory would like to discuss with you." she felt the girl bow. "I implore you to come with me. I promise you won't regret."

Maoyu doesn't say anything and closed her eyes.

It was as if she were trying to wish her away.

When she heard the girl began to walk away, she sighed in relief and her body eased. At least the girl knew how to take a hint.

Just when she was about to return to her slumberous bliss, the lights were turned on.

With an annoyed growl, she snatched her shades and put them on before getting up. She then turned to the pest that was dared to interrupt her nap time.

"What?" she snapped.

"I need you to come with me, Hyodo-san." the white-haired girl wouldn't let up. "This is a very important matter."
