🌿 Life 2 - CH 1 🌿

Issei ran as fast as he could.

His wings fluttered behind him, catching him whenever he would trip to keep him on his feet. He would have flown but he wasn't very confident in his flying abilities and he didn't want to risk hurting Maoyu.

He had already done enough.

Tears leaked out of his eyes as he desperately ran.

It happened again.

She had gotten hurt because of him, again.

He had been responsible for her death, again.

How many times was he going to put her through this? How many times would he fail her?

'I promised I'd be a better brother to you. I promised I'd protect you.' he said in his heart.

'I just can't do shit right! I fuck up everything!' he screamed at himself.

Issei shook his head and kept running.

He couldn't lose it right now. He had to get Maoyu to Rias.

When he finally reached the academy, he sounded relieved and picked up the pace.

He ran all the way to the club building and up the stairs.

"Rias!" he burst through the door, startling the red-head. "You have to help her!"

"Issei?" she stood.

She looked down and saw a bloodied Maoyu. Her eyes widened.

"Oh no." she came over. "Lay her on the sofa."

Issei nodded and carefully laid his sister on the sofa.

Akeno gasped at the girls condition.

There was a large hole in her stomach, two smaller holes, one in her left shoulder and the other in her right thigh. Her skin was marred and bruised.

Although she was still recognizable, she looked like she'd been through hell.

"Is she still breathing?" Akeno asked as Rias brought a finger to the girls nose.

"Barely." Rias frowned as she pulled away. "We need to get her home."

Akeno and Issei nodded.

"You got it, buchou." Akeno said.

Rias picked the girl up and followed Akeno to the teleportation circle she quickly prepared.

"Come on, Issei." Rias said.

"Comin'." Issei rushed after them.

Once everyone was in the circle, Akeno used her magic to teleport them out of there.

They reappeared in Issei's room.

"Where's her room?" Rias asked.

"Right next door." Issei lead the way.

"Should we clean her up first?" Akeno suggested.

Rias shook her head.

"Let her heal up a little more. Then we'll worry about that." she said.

"Hai." Akeno replied.

Issei opened the door to her room and let them in.

Rias laid Maoyu on the bed and immediately stared to take her close off.

"Uhh...." Issei immediately left, shutting the door behind him.

"Hmm....well that's a first." Akeno mused.
