Two Days before the Rating Game

Maoyu walked down the hall, being lead by a house servant.
The commotion she caused a few nights ago rattled Yasaka's court so no matter how much Yasaka tried to diffuse the situation, Maoyu had to stand trial.
Maoyu felt her heart racing as she was taken to the meeting room.
Tomoe stopped in front of the door and kneeled on the floor.
He glared back at Maoyu, silently telling her she should do the same.
Maoyu kneeled on the floor beside, but behind him.
"I'm coming in." Tomoe said, knocking on the door. "Please excuse me."
"Come in." He heard Yasaka say.
Tomoe opened the door and bowed, prompting Maoyu to do the same.
"I have brought her per your request." He said, sitting up.
In the large room, Yasaka sat at the front on a small pedestal.
Sitting lined up on the floor on either side were several yokai.
Tomoe felt a heavy gaze and he glanced in their direction.
Sitting directly across from Yasaka, was the Lord of the West, Yashamaru, sitting on his own pedestal as if directly opposing the head of the Yokai Faction.
Sitting right beside him was his twin brother, Sesshomaru, and his aunt, Touka, the one who should have taken the title of Lord of the West after the former general died.
Tomoe's eyes didn't linger and he suppressed his annoyance.
He wasn't happy to see the Inu clan, but he was glad that they at least had one sensible person in their entourage this time.
Touka was the only one from that clan of mutts he could stand.
Yasaka nodded to Tomoe, but her eyes never left Maoyu.
The girl seemed to be looking better, something that gave her relief. However, she suddenly felt guilty towards her.
Despite of knowing the girl's situation, she had no way of convincing her council. She didn't blame them for having complaints, but she couldn't allow them to execute the child.
In reality, Maoyu was a victim here.
Yasaka didn't know the complexities of it or know the girl's circumstances, but she knew that Maoyu wouldn't intentionally attack them.
Nevertheless, her case was one that was hard to plead.
She was still trying to figure out a way settle this matter without anymore conflict.
Tomoe looked at Maoyu.
"Let's go." He said coldly.
Maoyu silently followed him inside.
Tomoe lead her to the middle of the room and told her to sit.
She obediently kneeled on the cold, hard floor, keeping her head down. She didn't dare to look up and ignored her discomfort. She could feel the hostility being directed at her and it made the hairs on the back of her neck stand.
Tomoe went to sit at Yasaka's side and opened his fan.
He looked as if he were about to enjoy a show.
