Maoyu stared up at the ceiling.

Last night, Rias called her and told her that Issei had gotten hurt.

She literally ran out the house in pajamas with only a skateboard to get her to campus.

When she got there, Issei was sitting on the couch half-naked while Akeno was bandaging him.

She immediately demanded to know what happened.

After they told her everything, Maoyu's eyes were dark.

Once Rias got out of the shower, she began to explain to her and Issei that there were more than just stray devils. Other groups like exorcists also have their strays.

In a nutshell, the nun she and Issei ran into was one of those strays, not that it meant anything to the latter.

He was still hell-bent on saving her.

Maoyu sighed as she slowly sat up.

Her stomach growled and she rubbed it.

After last night, she suddenly had a feeling that this wouldn't be the last of their problems.

Their life was never going to go back to normal.

And that was something she was struggling with.

She got out of bed with a small stretch.

Her stomach continued to growl in hunger.

Scratching her head, she went to the bathroom for a shower.

After cleaning herself, she took care of her hygiene before returning to her room to get dressed.

She threw on the classic shorts and hoodie combo.

Hearing her stomach howl in desperation, she made her way downstairs and decided to start breakfast.

She grabbed a large skillet and turned the stove on high. She grabbed the bacon out of the refrigerator and threw the rest of the strips into the skillet.

While the bacon cooked, she grab some of the fresh bread her mother must have made yesterday. She cut a few slices and piled them on a clean plate. Next, she went and got some cheese and eggs from the refrigerator.

She cracked six eggs into the skillet to cook with the bacon, tossing the shells into the trash can. She put a slice of cheese on each piece of bread.

Once everything was done, she made breakfast sandwiches.

"Good morning, dear." Miki yawned as she entered the kitchen. "Something smells good."

"I made breakfast sandwiches." Maoyu said, putting her dirty dishes in the sink. "Do you want one?"

Miki nodded with a smile.
