Life 3 × CH 5

Maoyu panted as she carried a heavy bag on her back.

The sun was shining brightly in the sky, radiating heat.

She felt like she was going to die.

"Excuse me." Kiba said, walking past her and approaching Issei.

Seconds later, Koneko passed her.

She couldn't help but feel annoyed.

As soon as fried chicken left, Rias had gotten more strict, especially toward her.

It was as if the girl was determined to kill her.

She gave her the heaviest bag she could make to carry up the mountain.

In the beginning, she really thought the bag was going to crush her.

But she preserved and dealt with it.

She was no quitter and she definitely didn't want to give Rias the satisfaction of asking for help.

She looked ahead and saw Issei struggling.

He was fairing much better, but his body wasn't acclimated to intense exercise. That and he was Rias favorite play toy so of course she was going to dote on him more than everyone else.

Koneko just passed him and made it to the top of the hill where the others were waiting.

With her brows knit together, she continued to climb step by step.

She focused on her destination, ignoring everything else.

When she reached the top, she stopped by Koneko, who looked at her.

"Good job." She gave her a thumbs up.

Maoyu was caught by surprise.

It was odd, hearing it from the white haired girl that clearly didn't like her.

Koneko didn't say anything else and stared ahead.

Maoyu looked ahead as well before her eyes widened.

In front of them was a huge mansion.

The estate looked large and there was a huge fountain in the front yard.

Maoyu was sure it cost millions.

"Wow, fantastic!" Asia was amazed.

"Okay." Rias smiled. "Head inside and let's start training right away."

"Training right away?!" Issei exclaimed. "President, you really are a fiend."

Rias looked over her shoulder with a smile.

"A devil." She said.

Issei looked down as they walked up the yard to the front door.

They dropped off their bags and followed Rias inside the house.

The boys and girls split off to find their changing rooms.

Maoyu closed and locked the door behind her as she entered the girls room.

"I'm very impressed by your performance today." Rias told Maoyu. "You carried more than Koneko here."

"I knew she could do it." Akeno giggled. "Mao-chan always performs best under pressure."

"Don't call me that." Maoyu glared at her.

Rias giggled as well, taking off her clothes.

Since their encounter with Riser, things seemed to have lightened up around the group.
