Yasaka slowly opened her eyes.

She felt something warm on her chest and looked down.

Maoyu had cuddled into her chest with her arms around her waist.

She smiled softly and ran her fingers through her hair. She could tell it hasn't been cut in a while.

Yasaka hummed in content, enjoying their embrace.

After the meeting, she had her servants give Maoyu a bath and feed her properly. She then had them send her to the tea room to have tea with her.

Maoyu was very obedient and didn't cause any trouble.

When they first sat down for tea, she was very quiet. As Yasaka continued to make small talk with her, she slowly warmed up to her.

They spent most of the talking about big and small things.

Yasaka was glad that Maoyu decided to trust her and she learned a lot of things.

Turned out, the girl was a reincarnated devil under the House of Gremory. She was a pawn of the heiress who she remembered resided in Kuoh along with the Sitri heiress.

She had to admit, she was displeased to learn that her mate had her soul taken by the devils. And from the sounds of it, it was done without Maoyu's consent. When she learned about the incident that led up to her being reincarnated, she didn't know whether to be happy or angry. It would have been terrible if her mate had died, but the girl seemed to be miserable and just tired of everything.

Maoyu was still so young and had her entire life ahead of her.

She didn't want her to die, but she also didn't want her to suffer.

Maoyu had shared with her about something going on inside her.

Even though she was a devil, her power and attributes were that of a demon.

She also said that she couldn't sleep very well because of the nightmares.

When Yasaka asked her what the nightmares were about, she wouldn't speak....she couldn't speak.

The only thing Maoyu could say were silver eyes.

Yasaka was completely lost, unable to figure out what that means.

After much discussion, Yasaka suggested that she seal her power.

It was clear that Maoyu couldn't control it. After having a first-hand experience of what happened when she lost control, she was scared for the child.

What would happen if this power was left unchecked?

What would happen to them if she was consumed by it?

If such a thing happened, not only would Maoyu's life be in danger, but the lives of anyone around her.

This was something that needed to be dealt with while they were ahead.
