Nine months later

September, 1892

"Ominis, you need to walk faster!" I was out of breath nearly running to my desired platform.

I had one hand pushing both Ominis' luggage and mine as well on a single cart, while the other was wrapped around his own arm. I glanced up at the large clock in King's Cross Station and the time read 10:50 AM. I had precisely ten minutes to push this damn cart across the station while tugging my friend through the packed crowds.

Great. Why did I procrastinate packing till this morning?

"Eliza, might you forget I am fully relying on you to guide me through to the platform!" Ominis aggressively spat out. "Also, why must you charge through the crowd so aggressively?!"

"Ominis the gateway closes in ten minutes!"

"Merlin Eliza, don't forget I told you to pack last night instead of---"

Ominis' words were cut short when he abruptly ran into an older man's shoulder.

"Watch where you're going!" The man aggressively said to Ominis.

A small chuckle escaped my lips with the stranger's wise choice of words.

"Yes Ominis, please watch your step," I sarcastically said, "You better start looking where you're going."

Because we were in London surrounded by Muggles, Ominis couldn't use his wand to guide him to the platform. Since our sixth year it has been my job to push our luggage and guide him through the crowds.

Last year, Ominis made us leave the cottage two hours early and we were the first students to arrive at Platform 9 3/4. Wish we did the same today.

After the traumatic events of our fifth year at Hogwarts, the Gaunts finally had enough of Ominis refusing to participate in dark magic. Ominis was kicked out of his own family home. Receiving his owl last summer stating how he had no home to go to was heartbreaking. I knew exactly how he felt sadly.

After finding out I had magic abilities, my muggle parents considered me a freak and had nothing to do with me. When my fifth year was over, I never returned to my parents. I have now lived in a small cottage outside London with my best friend Ominis for the past year. We were the only family each other had.

"Eliza don't start with me, just focus and get us to the platform".

"Oh, sorry princess, let me continue to push your luggage for you on top of mine!" I said, "Would you like a foot massage as well when we board the train to help your achy feet?"

"Bloody hell Eliza."

I turned around and saw a small smirk escape Ominis' mouth which made me unable to contain my laughter.

After Ominis and I have been living together for a year now, he basically became my brother. With me being an only child and Ominis not having a relationship with his other siblings, I guess you could say we were the siblings we both never had.

Finally, we made it to the entrance of the gateway. I gave Ominis a quick squeeze on his arm to let him know we arrived. I slid my hand down his arm and interlaced our fingers.

"Okay Ominis count to three when you are ready."

"Alright then, one...two, ah!"

Ominis never got to three because I started to run toward the solid brick wall. I closed my eyes right before our cart hit the wall and opened them again when I heard the sound of a familiar whistle.
