It was finally my last class of the day before all three of us headed off to Feldcroft for the weekend. The boys and I all had Potions with Professor Sharp, a very short-tempered man he is.
I've managed to stay in his good graces ever since I defeated Ranrok two years ago. But still, he can be very ill-tempered. At least I'm a class favorite, unlike Garreth Weasley with his own concoctions.
Sebastian and I discussed that we needed to brew several Wiggenweld potions to be prepared for Rookwood Castle. Lucky for us, we are station partners.
Ominis refused to help since he willingly admitted he is rubbish at potions. Neither did he want to be caught. He was partnered with Poppy on the other side of the classroom.
For today's assignment, we were tasked to brew a Focus Potion. Our station was located on the farthest end from Sharp's desk, so we took this as an opportunity to brew the Wiggenweld as well. One of us would make a Focus Potion, while the other made Wiggenweld.
Sebastian quietly whispered, "Did you get what we needed?"
"Yes, Dittany and Horklump juice. I'll brew the Wiggenweld." Since I brewed so many of these during my fifth year, I felt like I could do it in my sleep at this point.
"I'll keep an eye for Sharp, just occasionally look like you're helping me brew the Focus Potion."
I glanced up at Sharp whose nose was buried deep into grading papers. Sebastian and I got to work. One by one I slid my ingredients out of my robe, throwing them into my cauldron and stirring the mixture properly.
As I worked, I could hear Ominis bickering with Poppy, "Ominis I promise you we add Lacewing Flies first to the mixture."
"But I am holding Lacewing Flies! I put them out first on my station."
Poppy was too sweet to respond back in a harsh way, "Ominis I'm sorry but you're currently holding a jar of Leech Juice."
Sebastian obviously heard them too and chuckled to himself, "What's so funny?" I asked.
He leaned in closer, "I switched Ominis' ingredients before class started, making sure I put the Leech Juice in the exact jar as the Lacewing Flies. I mean, how would he know?"
I let out a quiet laugh, "These are the type of jokes that get me."
I had to laugh, especially hearing Ominis bicker and get flustered. I mean, out of all people who would try and argue with Poppy?
He leaned closer to me, looking down at my lips and then to my eyes, "You think I don't know that? Exactly why I did it." I smiled at his response and continued to work.
Sebastian let me put a few of the Focus Potion's ingredients into his cauldron. Trying to make our small act look more convincing to others. I even pretended to drop some into my cauldron.
I conjured up a few vials and quickly poured my perfectly brewed potion into them. I made three sets of two for each of us.
Sebastian tapped my ankle with his shoe, "Nice work Eliza, I brewed extra so there would be more left over to pour into your cauldron."
"Ha, guess you could call us the potion masters of the class." Sebastian gave me a soft smile from my response, highlighting his dimples and his scattered freckles. His chocolate brown eyes stared into mine, making me feel appreciated.
"I wouldn't be so quick to call yourself that mates." Garreth started to make his way over towards us.
"Not the time Weasley."
