diego's pov
i get to y/ns house and text her to let her know im here. she gets into the car.
"so what are we gonna do?" she asks
"umm well we can go get some food first if youre hungry, then maybe the boardwalk? we can go down to the actual beach too if you want." i say. the beach is my comfort place i like to just wind down and relax
"ohh yeah but i think i could change if were going to a beach?" she asks
"of course! ill be waiting in here alright?" i say smiling at her
"okay ill be quick" she says getting out of the car.
she changes into a bikini top and shorts. i cant lie she looked really good.
"mkay you ready?" i say looking at her
"mhm lets go! you want aux?" she asks. its about a 30 minute drive so ofc we needed music.
"no you can take aux i cant think of music to play right now." i say smiling her
"okayyyy" she says smiling while plugging her phone into the car

no one's pov
while on the way, they sing their hearts out. y/n plays "ya superame", "el azul", "zafiro", el greñas mentado", etc. theyre singing without a care in the world. they eventually make it to the boardwalk. it was around 11 am. y/n, without thinking dressed for a sunny day. but at beaches its pretty chilly until afternoon.
"fuckk i didnt think itd be cold" she says shivering
"her, i have an extra hoodie you can use in the back" diego says opening my car door to get the hoodie
"thank you diego" she says hugging him
"of course" he replies smiling, hugging her back
they start walking through the boardwalk, just walking around doing whatever. eventually they go down to the beach. they lay down and start kicking a football to each other (diego had one in his car) eventually they get bored and go to the water. just to "feel the water" next thing they know theyre dunking each other into the water. fully soaked in beach water. eventually they got hungry so they found a place to get food and say back down on the sand. they watched the sun set together, sitting pretty close to each other. diego staring at y/n, thinking about her in his hoodie. out of the blue diego blurts out
"hey y/n..?"
"yeah di?"
"have i ever told you youre my favorite girl?"
"no i dont think so. youre my favorite boy though. i feel safe with you, you know?"
"yeahh same thing with you."
diego smiles to himself now knowing that the favoritism was mutual. they decide it was time to go home.

diego's pov
we drive back to my house. getting inside i ask
"hey do u wanna watch a movie or smth?"
"mmm im really tired di can we sleep?" she says groggily
"ofc y/n go to my room. ill be here in the guest room if you need me alright?" i say not wanting to assume she wanted to sleep in the same bed as me
"oh.. okay then. good night diego" she says making her way up to my room
"good night y/n." i say walking into the guest room.

y/n's pov
i wake up sweaty, breathing heavily. im shook up from a nightmare. and being unaware of where i was i got even more panicked. i then remember i was with diego, well not with him, but at his house. i couldnt sleep alone, i know i cant. i decide to go to diego and sleep with him, he wont mind, right?
i open his door
"diego?"
"mmm, y/n? whats wrong?" he says in a tired voice
"i had a nightmare. can i sleep with you? i dont wanna be alone" i say shakily remembering the nightmare
"oh of course. come here" he says scooting over to give me space in the bed
"thank you di." i say
"mhm, just go to sleep. dont worry about anything else, im here." he says. i put my head on his chest and he wraps his arms around my waist.
"good night y/n" he says and kisses my forehead. for whatever reason i didnt seem to mind it. infact, i was glad he did it. what was happening?
"good night diego, i love you" what the fuck did i just say?? i mean its platonic right? fuck i dont know anymore.
"i love you more y/n." he says
i fall asleep in his arms.
