i was laying in bed when i get a call from diego.
"hello?" i say
"hey y/n." he says, nervous sounding
"hey, whats up?" i ask concerned, he seemed worried
"nada nada its just- i- can you come over?" he says
"yeah of course ill be right there" i respond
"okay thanks. bye, be safe" he says
"bye diego" i say and hang up. i was worried for him. he seemed so nervous but, i had no clue what could be happening. i let my dad know where im going and rush to his house.
diego's pov
i just asked y/n to come over and fuck. i was so nervous. i was scared i would ruin our friendship. i was currently pacing around the living room, waiting for her and practicing what to say. i didnt care if she liked me back or not, but shes a big part of my life. i could ruin everything with just one sentence. i sat down for a second, my hands gripping my hair. i was nervous, who wouldnt be? i was about to confess to someone! i decided to just sit down, listen to music and eat some chips or smth while i waited.
i had started to lay down when i heard the doorbell ring. i texted kevin what was about to happen and opened the door.
"hey y/n.." i say to her. no one can imagine how nervous i was.
"hey diego, what happened? you seem worried."
"nothing its just- lets sit down okay?" i say kinda shaky. i wasnt sure if i was ready. we get to the couch and i start to regret everything.
"what happened diego? youre really worrying me" y/n asks. i felt bad for worrying but this was a nerving thing to do
"okay i dont know how to tell you this. i dont wanna ruin anything but y/n. i wanna start something with you, like date. i wanna be able to go out and hold your hand, i wanna be able to say youre mine. of course if you dont feel anything back we can just stay friends, i dont care. you just needed to know." i finally blurt out.
"diego.. eres enserio?" y/n says slowly. fuck. i just ruined everything between us.
y/n's pov
i couldnt believe it. i was at a loss for words. of course i liked him back! i just didn't know he did too. and fuck, my dad! if i jump into a relationship with one of his players hes bound to get mad. all i could think to say is to ask if he was serious, and stare at him.
diego's pov
"y/n. say something. please." my heart was beating. i couldnt believe that i just ruined everything.
"diego. i do too." i hear y/n say after what felt like hours of silence
"what?"
"everything you said, i want something more than just a friendship with you. ive always been afraid that it could ruin our friendship but now that i know you feel the same way, it puts everything in a different view for us." she says. i can feel a smile coming onto my face. i wouldve never thought a girl like her could feel that way about me.
"wait really? youre not fucking with me right?" i say. there was absolutely no way what she just said was true.
"no diego im not" she says laughing
"so what does this mean? like for us. what are we?" i ask. i didnt mind if we dated or not honestly. i was just happy knowing she felt the same way.
"im not sure. i would really really wanna date you but my dad. he's protective over me. especially with his players. when the stuff started going around of us watching a movie he was so pissed off at me." she says kinda frowning
"well thats alright just let me take you out tonight. like dinner or something" i blurt out
"diegoo im not dressed to go out to eat" she says in a sorta whiny tone
"okayy then we'll get something to go and eat here. pleaseee y/n?" i say. i wanted to do something with her right now, just anything.
"okayy fineee. what do u wanna get?" she says smiling
"yayyyy thank you!! and uhh idk you can choose" i reply. i didnt care what we got. i was so excited right now, what we ate was not my concern.
"hmm maybe tacos or something? actually no im in the mood for a burrito. is that good with you?" she asks with a sparkle in her eyes
"of course! lets go." i start "wait y/n" i say
"what happened?" she says looking back at me. i say nothing and pull her into a tight hug. before letting go i kissed her forehead. i see her smile at me. we walk to the car. on our way we listened to love songs like "amor" by alta elegancia and dannylux "junto a ti" by dannylux "hasta la muerte by ivan cornejo and eslabon armado, etc. i was so happy that she finally knew. while waiting at the taco truck for our order, i wait on my phone. sitting by y/n. i see 12 messages from kevin

we got my tacos and y/ns burrito and went back to my house. we ate and watched euphoria. i kept just admiring her. im over the moon right now. we finished up eating and she had to go back home. we decided it was best she didnt stay over so she could ask her dad, and let me know at practice. when she left, i felt empty. almost like i needed her there with me. i decided to just go to sleep, imagining she was with me.
