23 || A LITTLE RESTLESSNESS

SIERA'S POV:

Flinched, we all look back just to discover Naomi standing at the doorway while smiling innocently. We all sighed seeing her including Virahi's frustrated sigh.

"Why do you have to scare us like that?" Virahi asked in a quite unsatisfied manner.

Naomi chuckled and and entered the room, "Hehe, sorry.." She apologized.

Virahi shook her head following with another sigh.

"Hey, Naomi how are you?" Father asked in a calm tone.

"Naomi smiled at him and said, "Fine, uncle! How about you?"

Father smiled and nodded his head to the side indicating he was doing fine.

"Soo...have you guys heard that our university is going to hold a fest within a week?" She said excitedly facing us, me and Virahi.

Virahi got surprised bit and composed herself steadily, "Huh?" She exclaimed.

I already knew that it was the time for the university fest and our musical band would be performing too. But before Naomi could answer I said,

"Yeah it's the fest time, our music band is gonna perform too....well every year does.."

"Ohhh really? Then it's gonna be a lot of fun, isn't it Virahi?" She asked excitedly while facing her.

"Mhm..yeah.." She answered faintly, less interested.

"Soo, okay girls carry on your conversation, I'm leaving for now.." Father said while standing up and sighed a long sigh.

I stood up instinctively and said, "oh..okay..are you going to the police station?"

"Mhm...yeah, there's some things need to be taken care of...bye see you later.." He said to us and was about to leave.

He was half-way of his path and when he was about to cross the doorway, I felt my scalp tingled and my stomach heaved.

With a slight hesitant, I called out, "Uh..Father!"

He stopped at his tracks and looked to the side waiting for an answer.

"Uh..t-thank you so much.."

I said while looking at the ground and scratched my nape.

I heard him chuckling slightly and then left the room.

The room now filled with silence as nobody dared to talk nor could find any suitable sentence to begin the conversation with. We stayed quite till father's footsteps were feeble and finally disappeared into the thin air.

After an unhealthy pause, probably to ease the awkward situation Naomi spoke up, "Auhh...so your father gotta know about your relationship?"

She asked while slanting against the desk crossing her arms and ankles.

"Hmm yeah...that's what we were talking about.." I said while sitting on my chair.

Naomi nodded her head positively and stayed quite for a moment.

"So what are you talking about the fest?" Virahi finally spoke up.

Naomi looked up and straightened herself.

"Ahh..yeah, the university fest is held in the coming week, I heard from Nicole who was practicing at the music building, others also!"

"Mhmmm...then I should go too, I guess.." I said while standing up. "Wanna go?" I asked again, facing Virahi.

She flinched, probably thinking something so she stammered, "Uhh...okay..can go.."

I nodded and left her room and headed towards mine to get ready.
