jakku

"We got company." Poe Dameron said gravely after BB-8 came in, frantically beeping and somewhat interrupting the meeting he was having with Lor San Tekka concerning the whereabouts of Luke Skywalker, the missing Jedi brother of General Leia Organa.

Why does this shit always happen to me, Poe thought as he and the village elder followed the frantic droid through the tent flap and into the chaos that would soon arrive. Pulling up his binoculars, Poe glimpsed multiple First Order ships landing in the near distance, accompanied with the noise of Jakku villagers panicking around them.

"You have to hide." Poe said to Lor San Tekka as he lowered his binoculars.

"You have to leave." The elder said quickly and Poe saw his face warp into something which contained both fear and resolve somehow as he turned to face him. "Go."

As the bell tolled and the Villagers clambered around them, Poe and BB-8 made a break for it, leaving Lor San Tekka to his own self preservation.

Racing through the panicked villagers who gathered arms against the First Order, Poe managed to reach the outskirts of the village where it seemed as though there was only sand. How the fuck do you run on this terrain, Poe thought as he panted through his frustration.

"Come on BB-8, hurry!" He commanded, still racing through the sand as he reached his ship. Climbing up the ladder, he seated himself at the pilot's place of the X-wing as the windows locked around him. Trusting BB-8 had managed to get himself where he needed to go, he pulled on his helmet and prepared to take off.

But that seemed to be the exact time the stormtroopers caught him.

Feeling a large blast to the back of ship, Poe jolted in his seat, groaning as all his alarms went off around him. BB-8 chirped frantically as the blasts kept coming.

"I seem them." Poe yelled, responding to his droid as he deployed the built in blasters to the bottom of the X-wing, shooting with wild abandon at the approaching Stormtroopers and knocking a few off their feet before escaping his ship with blaster in hand to check the engine which, of course, had been totalled.

"BB-8!" Poe called, hiding behind his X-wing as he heard the villagers screams and blasters being shot around him. The droid dropped to the sand and rolled over quickly. Taking out the chip that would show them the map to where the Jedi master was, he plugged it into BB-8. "You take this, it's safer with you than it is with me. You get as far away as you can from here. Do you hear me?"

BB-8 chirped nervously but there was no time for any real comfort.

"I'll come back for you." Poe promised, before standing with his blaster and running from the droid but not without calling back. "It'll be alright."

Taking shelter behind a sand dune, Poe cocked his blaster and aimed at a passing Stormtrooper who was knocked to the floor by the blast. One after another fell again and again and again but it had not been enough. Poe watched as Lor San Tekka was brought before the shadowy figure of Kylo Ren, the two exchanging words Poe could not hear but he had seen enough. He had seen a red lightsaber take down the village elder.

Rushing to his feet, he cocked the blaster and aimed for Kylo Ren but he had not been quick enough. Both the blast and himself were stopped in the air with just a wave of the black cloaked man's hand. He grunted, attempting to fight the hold but he was only released once two Stormtrooper's had their hands on him. As he was dragged before Kylo Ren, he saw the blast was still pulsating in the air. Stuck.

Kicked to the ground by one of the Stormtrooper's, Poe fell to his knees with a grunt and after a moment, Kylo joined him there. An uneasy silence between them.

"So who talks first?" Poe asked, still panting slightly at the overexertion. "You talk first? I talk first?"

"The old man gave it to you." Kylo Ren stated through his mask, turning his voice into a gravelly sound.

"It's very hard to understand you with all the..." Poe said, making motions in front of his face as he spoke but was interrupted by Kylo with a 'search him'. "...Apparatus."

Dragged to his feet by the Stormtroopers, he was patted down harshly by one as the other held him still in a tight grip. Kinky, he thought to himself.

"Nothing sir." One reported.

"Put him on board." Kylo Ren commanded and the pilot was dragged away to the waiting ship.

Fuck.

first order ship

The cell they put Poe in was cold and shadowy. They didn't waste any time strapping him to some contraption which held his arms, legs and neck in the most uncomfortable position.

"Look guys, my chiropractor is going to hate-" Poe began but was quickly cut off with a harsh jab to the side of his face and he could feel blood begin to pool in his mouth. After that, he stayed quiet for a moment. The gravity of the situation beginning to kick in. After tightening the contraption to the point where Poe was sure he would lose all blood flow to his hands, the Stormtroopers left him alone.

Or so he thought.

"You should learn to shut that pretty mouth of yours, flyboy." The voice called out from a shadowy corner of the room that Poe could not see well. "They hardly speak, all they know is kicky punch."

"Well you know my mom always told me never to take advice from strangers." Poe returned, squinting into the darkness but only managing to see the shadowy outline of someone he assumed to be a girl. "What's your name?"

"You won't live long enough to find out." She said with a small sigh. "And if you do I'm going to kill you for waking me up, I haven't slept in forever but you just had to make all that noise."

"Well to be far I was being kidnapped and beaten, but fair." Poe shrugged. "Come on tell me your name, what's one name for two dead prisoners of the First Order?"

"Supreme Leader Snoke."

"I'm pretty sure Snoke doesn't have a voice as pretty as yours." Poe said and he heard a small scoff come from the unknown girl. "Come on, consider it my dying wish."

"The likelihood of you finding out my name is the same likelihood of you escaping."

"Well you've just given me enough motivation to." The Pilot said and he could hear yet another small scoff come from the other side of the room.

"Get some sleep, flyboy." The voice said and he heard the somewhat feeble tone in her voice. She had been here for a while. "You're not gonna get it for a while."

Poe let it fall silent after that. This was not an ideal situation, prisoner of the First Order and all as a rebel pilot, but he found some comfort in the fact that he wasn't alone.
