Padme had woke up screaming again.

She had been having the same dream over and over again. One that chilled her bones every time she fell asleep and every time she woke up.

They were in close quarters on the Millennium Falcon, sure, but somehow no one ever noticed when their seemingly fearless General awoke in the middle of the night either yelling or talking in tongues because of one person.

Commander Poe Dameron who lay diligently by her side, promising to blast each nightmare away as they came.

"Hey, sweetheart, shh." Poe said, immediately awake as he sat up in their shared bed and pulled his girl into his chest and rocked her back and forth. "I'm here."

"Ben... he..." Padme whispered, touching Poe's bare chest where a small scar was left from their days on the First Order ship so many months ago. Who knew she'd be sleeping in the bed of her cellmate a few months later?

"Not Ben, Kylo." Poe corrected, pressing a kiss to the girls temple. "Not Ben."

After a moment of silence, Padme's breath slowed and she muttered some form of apology as she attempted to pull away but Poe wouldn't let her.

"Don't you dare apologise, princess." The pilot said gently, lowing his head so he could look her in the eyes. "You haven't anything wrong."

"But I-"

"Nope." Poe said, closing his eyes as he pressed his forehead against hers. "Nothing wrong."

Chewie growled in thought as he studied the table of holochess in front of him as Finn and Poe watched him make his choice with bored expressions on their faces. Padme sat between Poe's legs, her back pressed against his chest as she watched the game with amusement out of the corner of her eye while reading files her mother had sent her on a tablet.

"Are you ever gonna go?" Poe asked, resting his head on Padme's shoulder as Chewie grunted irritably at him as Padme snorted.

"He can't beat us every time." Finn stated, not pulling his eyes from the Wookie.

"Apparently he does." Poe said.

"How does he do it?" Finn wondered aloud.

"This guy right here?" Poe said, turning his head from Padme's shoulders to Finn's ear. "It's cause he cheats."

At that, Chewie let out a loud, affronted groan and Poe immediately put his hand sup in surrender.

"I'm kidding!" The pilot said as Finn muttered something about Chewbacca finally taking his turn. "You're 250 years old. Of course you're better than us."

"Or maybe it's 'cause you guys are stupid." Padme said, pointing at the board. "If you had just moved that piece in your last turn, then Chewie wouldn't be able to-"

At that, Poe clamped his hand over her mouth and something above them chimed and Chewbacca eyed them as he went to go check where it was coming from.

"We're not going to turn it off!" Finn exclaimed as Chewie walked away before turning to Poe as he stood up. "He's cheating."
