rebel base

Poe and Padme were checked up in the Medbay and found that there were no lasting injuries that either had sustained from their ordeal on the First Order ship except some cuts and bruises and in Padme's case, lasting scars both mental and physical.

But now it was time for the two to explain what had actually happened to General Leia and other High Ups in the Resistance.

As the two waited for the others to fill into the room, Poe and Padme sat together, fresh from the Medbay.

"You ready?" He asked her quietly so only the two could hear after noticing how she played with her fingers.

"It's been a while." Padme said dryly. "But it'll be fine, I'm just not into the idea of reliving... everything."

"Just say when you wanna stop."

"Poe I can't-"

"Of course you can." The Pilot stated. "And if anyone wants you to keep going they'll have to face me and I'm pretty damn intimidating."

"Sure you are." Padme said with a small laugh, which had been Poe's aim all along.

"I am!"

"Whatever you want to believe, Flyboy." Padme said, sending him a look as the final people took their seats around the large table and her mother stood to address them all.

"As you all know, both General Padme Organa-Solo and Commander Poe Dameron have returned to us safely from being held captive by the First Order." Leia said, smiling as the room applauded the return of her daughter and the pilot. "But what we are here to find out, is how all of this actually occurred so it can be prevented in the future and, of course, why this all actually happened. General, Commander, you have the floor."

Before Poe could begin, Padme stood, immediately a General again as if she had never left.

"A year ago, we sent out a squadron to raid a First Order camp where we believed children were being raised to become Stormtroopers. However, we had had some seriously losses from a previous raid and I offered to go along with them as the head marksman of the Resistance and as General." Padme explained, all confidence as she presented.

But Poe didn't miss the slight shake of her hands beneath the table. Without thinking, he reached out and took her hand in his, knowing no one would notice. At that the shaking stopped and Padme continued.

"But our information was wrong, it was a trap sent by the First Order to capture me and wipe out the squadron." She said, swallowing her guilt at that. "I was held captive for the past year, enduring interrogations and torture but of nothing in particular. Of course, facts of the Resistance which I never gave up but it was very strange. It was as though I was kept there more just to be tortured. As if it was personal."

"Why do you believe that?" Someone asked, not unkindly but curiously and Poe felt Padme's hand tighten slightly around his.

"The... torture was based around many of my worst possible fears which I will not disclose as of right now but it was all information I had never told anyone and never will. As if this person knew me personally and wanted me to suffer." Padme explained, Poe's eyes widening at this new information. "And after the first few weeks, it was only torture, not interrogations. And this continued until, a year later, Commander Dameron was dragged unceremoniously into my cell and I think this is when you should come in, Commander."
