rebel base

After Finn explained the situation with Rey, Padme and Poe immediately agreed they had to go to Leia. She had seniority over Padme and while Padme had power, they would need Leia for what was to come.

Rushing into the underground communication space and rushing through the people around them, Padme guided them to her mom.

"Mom, I'm sorry to interrupt, this is Finn." She introduced, panting slightly when they reached the General. "He needs to talk to you."

"And I need to talk to him." Leia said, turning to the ex Stormtrooper. "That was incredibly brave, what you did. Renouncing the First Order, saving my daughter and Commander Dameron-"

"Thank you, ma'am." Finn interrupted, taking Leia a'back. "But a friend of mine was taken prisoner."

"Han told me about the girl." Leia said and Padme's eyes widened as her head turned to her mother at the mention of her dad. "I'm sorry."

"Finn's familiar with the weapon that destroyed the Hosnian system." Poe said, cutting into the conversation. "He worked on the base."

"We're desperate for anything you can tell us." Leia implored Finn and the ex Stormtrooper spoke again.

"That's where my friend was taken." He stated. "I've got to get there fast."

"And I will do everything I can to help." Leia promised. "But first you need to tell us everything you know."

Just as Finn was being taken in for questioning, Padme heard the familiar noise of a Wookie she knew all too well. With a smile on her face, she left the trio, leaving a confused Poe in her wake, and made her way to the sound.

"Chewie!" She exclaimed happily once she reached the source of the noise. The Wookie growled happily at the sight of his favourite niece and immediately brushed off the medic who was attending to him and wrapped her in his hairy arms as she laughed. "It's good to see you too but where's dad?"

Growling out something in Wookie, he pointed to where C-3PO and Leia were surrounding the map Poe had found. And there, beside her mother as she always remembered him to be, was Han.

"I'll see you in a few, Chewie." She said with a smile as she made her way to where the group were surrounding the map.

"I can't believe I was so foolish to think I could find Luke and bring him home." Padme heard Leia grumble as she approached the table, staying to the outskirts so as not to interrupt.

"Leia." Her father said almost reprimandingly, a pitying look on his face.

"Don't do that." Leia said, walking away from the table.

"Do what?"

"Anything." Padme's mom said and Han went to follow her, Padme doing the same.

Padme's childhood consisted of many things. Love, learning, expectations but also the common arguments of her parents. This was before they split and her and her twin brother, Ben, used to watch from the top of the stars while her parents argued in the kitchen, always ready to intervene if the time came.

But that was before her brother died.

"I'm trying to help." Han said as he followed her mother.

"When did that ever help?" Leia scoffed before rolling her eyes as she predicted his next answer. "And don't say the Death Star."
