Chapter 4

[ JIANG CHENG'S POV ]

...

"WHAT WERE YOU THINKING? DISAPPEARING LIKE THAT. ARE YOU TRYING TO DISGRACE THE YUNMENG JIANG CLAN??" Madam Yu showed no mercy, as she screamed at Jiang Cheng. Zidian sparked maliciously at her side, causing Jiang Cheng and some disciples to retreat in fear.

Wei-Wuxian you little... did you have to leave precisely at this moment again??... Where do you even go during this time...you've been disappearing at this time for more than a month now...

'...AT THIS HOUR AS WELL... YOU SHOULD KNOW BETTER THAN TO SKIP DINNER..."

*scoff from Madam Yu* 

Only after an hour more of Madam Yu shouting at Jiang Cheng, did she finally dismiss him. "I expected better of you, Jiang Cheng." She said coldly before leaving the room. 

Mother is right... what has gotten into me these days??? Just because I met some stupid human... What in the world has got me like this?... I wonder if Nie Huaisang has teleported that human back to land... The heck- I'm doing it again- WHY THE FCK DO I KEEP THINKING ABOUT THAT HUMAN??...

I didn't even say goodbye to him...

...Fck I did it again...

Busy in thought, Jiang Cheng didn't notice as Nie Huaisang swam up to him, fanning himself nervously.

"-iang-Xiong?..." 

"Jiang-Xiong!..."

Jiang cheng slapped himself. "Huh?"

Not expecting for Jiang Cheng to slap himself, Nie Huaisang nervously swam back a little. "Hey.. Jiang-Xiong!.... How are you?.."

...

"What happened to him?"

"... I'm sorry?"

"What happened to the human?" Jiang Cheng repeated. This time, a little louder.

"Ah- I teleported him back to land." Nie Huaisang said with a shrug. 

... He's so calm, talking about a human.. So why am I feeling so drawn to that fcking human...

"What about Wei Wuxian?"

"He left earlier. Said something about needing fresh air." Hie Huaisang fanned himself harder. "Since when did he need air?.. Merpeople can breath underwater."

"... Whatever. I'm going to bed." Jiang Cheng muttered.

He swam off, leaving Nie Huaisang to scratch his head. 

eh? am I missing something?-

[ Enter small POV of WEI WUXIAN ]

"OW OW OW that hurts go slower it hurts a lot you know!..." 

Wei Wuxian groaned. He could take people shouting at him. In fact, he'd prefer that to countless whip lashes, especially when it's from Zidian. 

Lan Wangji sighed as he gently removed the slightly bloody damp cloth, exposing Wei Wuxian's wounds to air for some time before he once again started tapping the area around the wounds with a fresh new cloth. When he was sure that every lash mark had been wiped over, he then tore off part of his robe, (much to Wei Wuxian's shock) and lightly wrapped it around the wound; ending with a small knot to secure the whole thing. 

Wei Wuxian grinned and leaned in, giving a peck on Lan Wangji's cheek, causing the tips of Lan Wangji's ears to turn pink.

"Who would've known that Lan Zhan knew how to patch a wound like a professional? This is why my boyfriend is the best haha!"

Though Lan Wangji said nothing, a faint smile could be seen on his lips. 

"Mn. Go rest now."

Wei Wuxian gave a bunny grin and nodded. He then proceeded to try and shift himself closer to the water, only to find the atempts in vain as his tail was completely useless while damaged and on land.

Lan Wangji sighed again as he walked over and carried Wei Wuxian bridal style back to the water. 

"Lan Zhaan. You better visit me again tomorrow." Wei Wuxian pouted.

"Mn."

Lan Wangji knelt down, and released Wei Wuxian as the merman happily dove back into the water with a SPLASH!

... And got Lan Wangji soaked in water from head to toe.

If his uncle asks, it was the rain.

Wei Wuxian pops back into view and gives another one of his bunny grins. "See you later Lan Zhan!"

Lan Wangji smiled softly.

"Mn." 

Wei Wuxian turned and dove back into the lake,

leaving nothing but small ripples in his place, as he descended back to home.
