It had been nearly a year since the battle.

Jiang Cheng stayed with Lan Xichen till the very end, as he sat by Lan Xichen's bedside, patiently waiting each day for him to wake up.

When he had learned that his mother had stabbed herself, he couldn't accept it. He hired the best doctor to check up on her, and through that they discovered that with some other minor injuries, Jiang Fengmian had been stabbed on the left side of his chest, missing his heart which was on the right side of his chest. He wouldn't die just yet.

Yu Ziyuan's situation was a little complicated. She had stabbed herself directly through her heart, and the doctors were sure she wouldn't make it. Through some miracle, however, after performing some surgeries, they managed to mend the wound, claiming that she would be waking up in a few days.

It took a while, but they managed to slowly rebuild the Yunment Jiang Clan, with Wei Wuxian giving his full support to Jiang Cheng, with additional support from Lan Wangji.

It was during an especially warm afternoon, that Jiang Cheng fell asleep next to Lan Xichen's bedside. It had been his third time falling asleep, but he felt really tired, and so he gently laid his head on the side of the bed, falling asleep in almost an instant.

He woke up to something moving, and he slowly opened his eyes, expecting to see Wei Wuxian or Lan Wangji.

Instead, Lan Xichen's eyes were open and staring at him. "A....Cheng?" He mumbled softly.

Jiang Cheng's eyes widened as tears began to well up in his eyes. He trembled slightly as his mouth opened, yet he couldn't think of anything to say. Lan Xichen slowly sat up, and shakily opened his arms. "What's wrong A-Cheng? Don't you miss me?"

Jiang Cheng burst out crying, as he flung himself into Lan Xichen's arms, sobbing and sobbing.

The sudden sound of crying alerted Wei Wuxian, and he stopped at the door, as he just gazed at the two in each other's embrace. He couldn't help but smile when he saw how happy and relieved Jiang Cheng was, and shortly after, Lan Wangji came into the room as well, greeting his brother with his usual stoic expression and flat voice. Lan Xichen could tell Lan Wangji was relived, and just smiled at his brother.

This remained as one of the happiest moment of their lives.

Hello There!

Author here again :'D. I know I didn't put much for Yu Ziyuan and Jiang Fengmian's situation, but this was meant to be a Xicheng fanfic anyways so I didn't think I needed to add much to their story. Maybe if I have time I'll make a spinoff detailing their situation after the battle. I wish you all a wonderful day! And if you liked this story, please do check out some of my other stories! (Though some of them I only just started and I honestly only have one other that I'm really working on...)

Thank you again for taking time to read this story!

Have a great day/night!
