[JIANG CHENG'S POV] - Doesn't include "I" statements if that makes sense- T v T

It was a peaceful evening. The cool lake waters were pleasant and relaxing. Glowing jellyfish glided here and there, creating faded light patterns that illuminated the rows of underwater coral houses that lay comfortably on the sea floor. Seaweed rustled softly, making a relaxing melody of rain falling on windows. It was unusually quiet, however.

Too quiet

Jiang Cheng frowned. It was as if he was expecting a certain merguy to pop out of nowhere and-

"JIANG CHENG :D!"

"Jiang-Xiong ^^!"

Ah there it is. Jiang Cheng frowned.

Right then, a cheeky looking merguy with messy hair that was tied with a blood red hair tie popped up into view next to Jiang Cheng. He had a mischievous smile, and large light purplish-gray eyes that may seem innocent at first, but unbeknownst to people, those eyes held a great amount of slyness and playfulness. This was his half brother: Wei Wuxian - Aka CEO of troublemaking.

Next to Wei Wuxian, a nervous looking merguy slowly approached and timidly waved at Jiang Cheng. He grinned an awkward grin and greeted Jiang Cheng while fanning himself with a hand-held fan. This, was: Nie Huaisang - Aka A considered good friend of Jiang Cheng and Wei Wuxian.

"Jiang Chenggg why didn't you wait for me when I told you I had to stay behind for sword practice?" Wei Wuxian pouted and gave shiny mercat eyes.

Jiang Cheng rolled his eyes. "It's not my fault someone decided to sneak a goldfish into class and ended up needing to stay an extra two hours. What did you expect?"

"You're so mean Cheng-Chenggggg." Wei Wuxian dramatically put his hand to his face and 'sobbed'.

Jiang Cheng again rolled his eyes. He knew when Wei Wuxian was fake crying. It wasn't hard to tell.

Before Jiang Cheng could reply, Nie Huaisang cut in between them and hurriedly said, "Aha Jiang-Xiong! Wei-Xiong and I met your mother just now-"

Now this got Jiang Cheng's attention. His mother needed something? Did he not sit straight enough during his lessons? He gulped. "What did she need?..."

Nie Huaisang snapped his fan shut. "Well, she first gave Wei-Xiong a speech and a little... lesson that... may or may not have taken up 30 minutes-" Jing Cheng had to swallow a laugh. "Then she asked us, including you, to cover up today's evening patrol."

Hearing this, Jiang Cheng was a little surprised as evening patrol was not something to be taken lightly. This meant that if they encountered enemies along the border, they were to capture them. If unabled to be captured, then they are to be killed. Therefore, most border patrols (morning, afternoon and evening) were directed towards older and more experienced disciples. But if this was an order for them then it meant that his mother must've acknowledged his training.

Hearing nothing from Wei Wuxian, Jiang Cheng frowned and turned towards him. Expecting an explanation.

Wei Wuxian, who dropped the whole 'I am sobbing right now I would like comfort thank you very much' act and sighed. "My tail hurts from the whip."

Jiang Cheng's face did not change, but deep inside, he felt a little pain and pity for his brother.

"If nothing else, then let's get going."

----------- A little while after swimming towards the border of their part of the territory... -----------

"Ah, we're here!" Wei Wuxian grinned gleefully.

Jiang Cheng saw nothing to smile about.

Nie Huaisang acknowledged the lemon shark that swam by.

Jiang Cheng looked around. Really, there wasn't much. Some piled up rocks... some patches of seaweed... small groups of fish swimming to home... some sand... actually a lot of sand but the point has been made.

10 minutes passed:

Nothing happened.

To pass time, Wei Wuxian and Nie Huaisang found some pieces of driftwood, and started drawing random things in the sand. Nie Huaisang found a sea urchin and decided to draw it. Wei Wuxian tilted his head as if thinking of what to draw. Then he apparently decides to draw a bunny. To be exact, he seems to have decided to draw two bunnies. One black. One white. Jiang Cheng watches as Wei Wuxian grabs some black sand to fill in one bunny, and some white sand to fill in the other bunny.

... Where did Wei Wuxian get the sand from?... Jing Cheng finds himself wondering.

Another 10 minutes pass.

Wei Wuxian yawned. "This is so boring. I'd rather be teasing La- I mean I'd rather be off sword training.

Jiang Cheng turned to Wei Wuxian. "Who are you speaking of ?"

Wei Wuxian didn't answer.

Jiang Cheng was about to question Wei Wuxian further, when Nie Huaisang spoke up. "Uhm... Jiang-Xiong?... Wei-Xiong?... Is it just me, or is there something over there-"

Jiang Cheng immediately turned to where Nie Huaisang was pointing nervously.

There was indeed something, that was drifting, no- falling into the water depths. Not listening to Wei Wuxian and Nie Huaisang warning him of what the thing was, Jiang Cheng swam closer to the thing to get a better inspection.

He gasped.

This... This was...
