Chapter 9

[ JIANG CHENG'S POV ]

"What do you want Wei Wuxian?" Jiang Cheng did not look pleased. In fact, one might say that he looked extremely annoyed and pissed off.

Wei Wuxian chuckled nervously. "Ah, Cheng Cheng now is not the time to get mad, we need to head home right now, Mother is about to wake up, and I was informed that she would be heading to our rooms-" 

"Who informed- you know what nevermind, I'll be behind you." Wei Wuxian immediately dived back into the water, and Jiang Cheng followed.

Before diving deep into the lake, Jiang Cheng turned to Lan Xichen. "Tomorrow. This time. Do not be late." And he was gone.

Jiang Cheng followed Wei Wuxian, as they hurriedly swam back to their rooms. Jiang Cheng had only shut his eyes, when his mother swam into the room. Jiang Cheng held his breath, as he waited for his mother's instructions. He expected her to start order him to get up, but instead she slowly swam to his bed, and gently pat his head. 

"Do well young child.. make your father and I proud..."

"I wish I could've been a better mother to you..."

".. I'm sorry."

He didn't dare to open his eyes, but at that moment, Jiang Cheng had really wanted to let out his feelings and hug his mother tight. However, before he could decide to do so, his mother left, and he was left feeling blank and confused.

... Mother?...

Just what is going on with you?...
